📚SPRING INTO READING📚 Each year, School Board Member Christia Li Roberts (District 1) treats a group of voracious readers from Indiantown Middle School to lunch. This past year was no different! A group of high achieving Thunderbird readers enjoyed lunch with Mrs. Roberts at the historic Seminole Inn Restaurant in the Village of Indiantown, FL Government. They engaged in fun conversations and received a gift to help grow their love of reading even more. We hope our families are enjoying a wonderful Spring Break so far! 🎓#MCSDSENIORSTORIES🎓 This morning, we are shining a spotlight on Martin County High School senior Alanna Gilbride! "Alanna is a 3rd generation MCHS Tiger graduate who will be attending IRSC - Indian River State College to pursue a career as a firefighter/paramedic," proud mom Angie Gillbride shared. "Her passion is helping others which is why she is choosing this as her career path." "She was a football & basketball cheerleader throughout HS as well as an AVID student," Angie continued. "Alanna currently is a 2nd year S3 student as teacher assistant at Port Salerno Elementary School in kindergarten where she attended PreK-2nd grade. Alanna has had incredible teachers that created memorable learning experiences, starting in kindergarten at PSE with Mrs. Sharp and ending at The Pinewood Elementary in 4th with Mrs. Norman and 5th with Mrs. Jacaruso! In middle school at Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School, music teacher Mrs. Lavere, and finally at MCHS, AVID teacher Miss Porcelli. 🏄‍♀️🌊SURF'S UP FOR SCHOOL BREAKFAST🌊🏄‍♂️ National School Breakfast Week brought a tidal wave of excitement to start the day with a healthy breakfast! Our Food and Nutrition Services team created a splash in their cafeterias with fun decorations while serving up healthy breakfast options so our students in grades PreK-12 could ride the wave of success throughout the school day. Students who participated in #NSBW24 had the chance to win some totally awesome prizes, like underwater cameras! 💧WATER FEST 2024💧 We are thrilled to take part in Students4H2O's annual Water Fest in downtown Stuart on March 23, 2024! Several Martin County School District schools, staff and the Environmental Studies Center will have booths engaging families in a variety of activities designed to spread environmental awareness and foster sustainability. This year, schools are participating in a contest hosted by the StuartLife - The City of Stuart, Florida, where students decorate jerry jugs with themes promoting “Every Drop Counts.” Each entry will be judged during Water Fest.
