🍎#THANKANMCSDPRINCIPAL🍎
Parent Janie DeTray is grateful for South Fork High School Principal Jay Blavatt.
"When you have a child with 'extra' needs and there are three excellent high schools to choose from in Martin County, where do you go?" Ms. DeTray asks. "We attended all three virtual freshman orientations and as soon as South Fork's ESE/IEP portion of the call was complete, our decision was made. Our son was fully onboard after listening to the orientation along with learning that South Fork had a Digital/TV Production Program. My son's dad was joking with him before school started and challenged him to try and make it all four years without meeting the principal. Well, that didn't happen. The amazing Julie Butler arranged for my son and I to walk through his schedule and take a campus tour before the start of school. Mr. Blavatt met my son that very first day and welcomed him with open arms. He is very well respected, enforces the rules, expects people to follow those rules and yet is approachable. As a parent, I couldn't ask for more. I trust my son is safe under his watch and will receive the very best Martin County has to offer at South Fork High School! Thank you, Mr. Blavatt, for your leadership and for encouraging our kids to learn and achieve their very own unique potential."
