This morning, we are shining a spotlight on Jensen Beach High School senior Lauren Barrett!
"Lauren started her Martin County Education at J.D. Parker Elementary School in Kindergarten with her favorite 'Princess Teacher' Jen (McMahon) Lucas," proud mom Caroline wrote. "Since mom was teaching 1st grade, it was fun being at school together. My favorite memory is Lauren coming into the library while I was in a meeting and shouting 'Hey, that’s my Mom!' During Kindergarten, Lauren was diagnosed with Autism. She then moved to Bessey Creek Elementary School where she stayed though 5th grade. She participated in several plays and found her love of singing and drawing.
"Next came middle school at Stuart Middle School," her mom continued. "We are especially grateful to Mrs. Kelley for seeing Lauren’s potential. Lauren started high school and dove right in, she found her happy place with the Drama Club. Thank you Ms. Hance for encouraging her. Shout out to Mr. Romano for being so supportive with her academics. My favorite memory in high school was Lauren’s talent show performance her Freshman year when she sang 'Let It Go.' Lauren has plans to go to Indian River State College for two years and then transfer to Ringling College of Art and Design for graphic design/animation. So proud of Lauren’s hard work and perseverance! She is my miracle! Mom and Dad love you more than we could ever say!"
Congratulations, Lauren! 🎉🎉 We are so very proud of you!
