📚MAKING THEIR MARK📚 For Celebrate Literacy Week, Jensen Beach High School competed in a bookmark design contest around the theme of “Take a Deep Dive into Literacy--Splash Into New Worlds." Several students participated and created stunning masterpieces! The top four winners received a $20 Barnes & Noble gift card to help continue to foster their love of reading! Congratulations to Tatum, Gianna, Cameron and Tanner! We also have another student to congratulate...Jensen Beach High School's "Caught Reading" winner is Emily Agganis! The name of the game was "Caught Reading." Any student 'caught reading' by staff received a ticket for Celebrate Literacy Week. 🚀BLAST OFF TO KINDERGARTEN🚀 The countdown to kindergarten is on in the Martin County School District! T-7 days until our kindergarten orientation events, where families with rising kindergartners learn everything they need to be prepared for August! During the events, families will tour their child's zoned elementary school, meet the principal and leadership team, visit a kindergarten classroom, learn how to prepare their child for success in kindergarten and enroll their child in our high-performing school district. 🐹FAVORITE CLASS PET🐹 At Hobe Sound Elementary School, students celebrated literacy week ALL MONTH LONG by diving deep into a beloved classic, "The World According to Humphrey" by Betty G. Birney. Last night, families joined in on the fun for an evening all about Humphrey! Humphrey says, “you can learn a lot about life by observing another species.” The students had fun listening to the story, writing about the story, and interacting with the pet stuffed hamster provided to each classroom. Humphrey made lots of friends, had lots of adventures and added joy to Room 26 in the book and each of the classrooms at Hobe Sound! Students at Hobe Sound fell in love with Humphrey and with 12 books in the series, they have a lot more reading to do. She helps students splash into new worlds, specifically bringing the underwater world into focus! ⭐CELEBRATING EXCELLENCE⭐ Congratulations to Ty Raimann, a South Fork High School senior, for being awarded 3rd Place in Florida’s VFW “Voice of Democracy" contest! Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars VFW's premier scholarship program. Nearly 80,000 high school students across the country compete each year for more than $2 million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme was “Why Is The Veteran Important?” Ty will be awarded a $1,500 scholarship to the University he plans to attend in August. #ALLINMartin👊 #PublicSchoolProud #MCSDTheRippleEffect
