"They saw the old jailhouse, the Fountain of Youth and even got to hold an alligator," proud mom Kacie shared. "They learned so much about Florida’s history and the native animals that live here."

Martin County School District students Eva, Jameson, Chance and Brock visited Niagara Falls and Bar Harbor, Maine for their summer adventure!
Bar Harbor is home to the largest parts of Acadia National Park, including Cadillac Mountain, the highest point within 25 miles of the coastline of the eastern United States.

Felix A. Williams Elementary student Piper and older brother Paxon, a Jensen Beach High School student, enjoyed traveling abroad around the British Isles this summer.
"We explored England, Guernsey, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, and France," proud mom (and JBHS teacher) Mrs. Utech shared. "We learned so much about European history and geography and had fun doing it!"

This summer, Stuart Middle School rising 6th-grader Max and Felix A. Williams Elementary rising 5th-grader Mickey enjoyed the great outdoors in Brevard, North Carolina!
"They floated down the 3rd oldest river in the world, the French Broad River, chased waterfalls in Pisgah National Forest, and then ventured west to hike the Great Smokey Mountains," proud mom Kim shared.

If he wasn't visiting his grandmother, he was learning all about the U.S. Coast Guard and spending time at the different Martin County Fire Rescue fire stations!

The Berkley family--Ms. Berkley at Felix A. Williams Elementary, Mr. Berkley at Stuart Middle School and their daughter Ryah, a student at Felix A. Williams Elementary--have had a summer full of exciting educational adventures!
"Our family has been on a six-week camping trip across America, studying geography, history, geology, biology and even P.E. when visiting and exploring 11 national parks," the family shared. "Ryah has earned her Junior Ranger badge at Zion, Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef, Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Glacier National Parks. She has hiked the Zion Narrows, been off-roading in the Utah desert to see petroglyphs and slot canyons and hiked to the Grinnell Glacier in Glacier National Park."
As teachers, they encourage all parents to take advantage of the "Every Kid Outdoors" pass, which gives the whole family free admission to federal parks for fourth graders!

Felix A. Williams Elementary students Landin and Maveric traveled to Aruba for their summer break adventure!
They climbed unique rock formations and learned about an old gold mine.
Fun fact: In 1824, gold was finally discovered in Aruba, and eventually, the industry produced more than 3 million pounds of gold.

🍽️SCHOOL LUNCH INFO🍽️
The Martin County School District will cover the costs of meals for all students for the first two days of school (August 10th and 11th) for the schools NOT listed in the photos.
After August 11, the regular price for breakfast for all students is $1.50. Lunch for grades K-5 is $1.85, and for grades 6-12 is $2.10.
The District will cover the cost of meals for students who apply and qualify for reduced-price meals. All students attending the school sites participating in the Community Eligibility Provisions will receive free breakfasts and lunches with no income restrictions. Those schools are listed in the photos.

Felix A. Williams Elementary student Wyatt Caswell combatted the summer slide by digging up some clams in Cape Cod!
Not only did he explore U.S. Geography while traveling to Massachusetts, but he learned many lessons through clam digging! Did you know soft shell clams can live for 10-12 years? Some may have lived for as long as 28 years.
