Students may apply to attend any MCSD high school during our School Choice application period, which opens on March 1. WE ARE CAMBRIDGE! We are pleased to celebrate our January Cambridge Students of the Month, Karemy Encarnacion & Brian Wang. At Hidden Oaks, we are all Cambridge learners and we lead our work with these five learner attributes: 🦈 Confidence 🦈Responsibility 🦈Reflectiveness 🦈Innovation 🦈Engagement Our highest level of academic rigor coursework occurs in our Cambridge ELA and our Cambridge Science classes in all three grade levels. All of our 6th grade students this year have been able to take this Cambridge elective: M/J Art and World Culture, and students in grades 6 - 8 are able to take the Cambridge elective course, Global Perspectives. FREE ADMISSION to the Martin County Fair and Youth Livestock Show on Monday, Feb. 12! You read that right! Martin County School District students will have free admission to the fair on Monday, Feb. 12, between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. when they show their Student's Day Passport at the gate. Students can grab their passport book from their teacher or with the link below. Students can get stamps from any four activities and return the passport to their teacher for PBIS/Student Engagement points! Remember, Monday, Feb. 12 is a teacher workday, so students have the day off. What better way to spend the day than at the fair, for free! This flyer is NOT the actual passport. This year's 2024 Youth Driven Cinema, hosted by Inwater Research Group, is your opportunity to showcase YOUR FILM on the BIG SCREEN for a live theatre audience! Are you a future filmmaker, film star, or videographer with a passion for wildlife conservation? Grab your friends, classmates, and even teachers to create an award winning video to submit for the film screening. Submissions should be focused around local or global conservation topics, with an emphasis on how we can create a better tomorrow for our planet. Please note: Submissions that go above and beyond topics such as recycling, clean-ups, etc. will receive preference.

🐝SPELLING BEE SCHOLARS🐝 The Martin County School District held the 58th Annual Lillian A. Dassori Middle School Spelling Bee last night at Martin County High School. Five students from each of the middle schools in the District participated in 9 rounds of competition. Murray Middle School 7th grade student Landon Kodare took home the Spelling Bee Champion title and trophy with the winning word “uncanny.” Murray Middle School 8th grade student Dante Charre placed 2nd, and Treasure Coast Classical Academy 8th grade student Yemil Soto placed 3rd. 🔔NEW START TIMES FOR THE 24-25 SCHOOL YEAR🔔 The Martin County School Board approved new school start times for the 2024-2025 School Year during its regular Board Meeting tonight. Florida HB 733, passed in 2023, requires school districts to comply with new middle and high school start times beginning with the 2026-2027 school year. To comply with the legislation, Martin County School District school start and end times have been adjusted for the 2024-2025 school year. Because we are implementing the new times before the mandated year (2026-2027), the District will receive funds from the Florida Department of Education, which a portion of will be used to purchase a school bus tracking system for families. This system will allow verified parents and guardians to see when the bus will arrive at its stop in the mornings and afternoons, and if there are any delays along the route.
