**Soccer Tryouts**
Shark Soccer try outs are coming up!!! Come on out and tryout for the defending Martin County Championship team. Soccer is co-ed and open to all students who have at least a 2.0 GPA and no discipline issues.
District physical forms are required to try out. The try out dates are as follows:
Monday January 23rd at 7:15AM on Shark Field---- Day 1
Tuesday January 24th at 4:05PM on Shark Field---- Day 2
Wednesday January 25th at 7:15AM on Shark Field ---Day 3
Thursday January 26th at 4:05PM on Shark Field--- Day 4 IF NEEDED!!
The team roster will be posted Friday January 27th. First practice Monday January 30th at 7:15AM on Shark Field!!!

Afterschool HW help returns beginning the week of January 9th. New this semester is specific support for our Algebra and Geometry students with Mrs. Bosco on Mondays as well as STEM/Science Fair support with Mr. Howard on Wednesdays. Please review the schedule and know that you can call the office to confirm anytime. We are hopeful that our students have the help they need between our live sessions and the online resource, Paper which can be found on their Classlink Desktop.

All 8th graders will have the opportunity during the school day to interact with current high school CTE Academy Students and to learn about all the unique CTE programs at JBHS, MCHS and SFHS. Thirty-six spellers from all five of the District's middle schools participated in 16 rounds of competition, with the final two spellers competing in rounds 10 – 16! Contestants tackled the spelling of words such as "balderdash," "esoteric," gibbous,” “effusive,” and “resilience." The winning word was "commodious."

Florida Assessment of Student Thinking: FAST 2 Testing is approaching. Families, please plan ahead. Students will be taking the ELA FAST 2 on December 6th and the MATH FAST 2 as well as Algebra and Geometry PMT 2 on December 7th. There is an altered bell schedule. If your child has an appointment that day, consider rescheduling it or know that your child should plan on taking the test on a make up test day. We are asking for no early check outs.
