Constitution Week officially begins on September 17, but Martin County School District students are already getting a head start!
Further highlighting the importance of this annual observance, the Martin County School Board approved the 2026 Constitution Week Proclamation at Tuesday night's meeting, developed with Ms. Rae Scimeca and the Halpatiokee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
As we recognize the 239th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, students across the District will spend the week learning about the document that continues to shape our nation and protect our freedoms.

9/25 = 9-2-5! 💖🦋
The Martin County School Board has officially proclaimed September 25, 2026, as Dolly Parton Day throughout the Martin County School District! 💓📖
The day celebrates Dolly Parton’s remarkable contributions to children and literacy, along with the impact of programs like Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in helping young readers build a lifelong love of books.
We’re proud to celebrate alongside the Children’s Services Council of Martin County and The Library Foundation of Martin County as we encourage our school community to read, dream and grow together.
Here’s how to join us on Dolly Parton Day, a.k.a. 9/2-5:
📚Read for at least 30 minutes on September 25.
📖Get a library card and make your next great read easier to find.
💗Have a child age 5 or under? Sign up for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to receive free books at home.
And, of course, dress the part! Think pink, rhinestones, boots and big hair. Or, dress in your favorite college team to represent the coat of many colors! 👢✨💕

Our 4th grade mathematicians in Mrs. Sanchez’s class were making their thinking visible last week as they explored 4.NSO.2.1!
Students used counters to explore the inverse relationship between multiplication and division before practicing with a partner using the Rally Coach strategy. They built problems, explained their thinking, wrote equations, and proved their answers using related inverse facts.
Students also extended their learning by applying the commutative property and using important math vocabulary like inverse operation, dividend, divisor, and quotient.
We love seeing our Eagles think, explain, collaborate, and grow as mathematicians!

📚✨READ, DREAM & GO BIG!✨📚
Just like Dolly.
On September 25, or 9/25 (like 9 'to' 5), we’re celebrating Dolly Parton Day and her biggest gift to children: a love of reading. ❤️📖
Here’s how to join us:
📚 Read for at least 30 minutes on September 25.
📖 Get a library card and make your next great read easier to find.
💗 Have a child age 5 or under? Sign up for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library to receive free books at home
And, of course, dress the part! Think pink, rhinestones, boots and big hair. 👢✨💕
Let’s go #ALLINMartin👊 to celebrate reading, big dreams and the joy of a good book! Get ready to share your pics of reading a book and doing it in style, just like Dolly.

All but 20 students reached the challenge goal (and they were oh so close!), and many have already exceeded it, earning their place in the ⭐ 10-Point Club and 🌟 20-Point Club!
Mrs. Parrilli is also excited to share that eight Sunshine State books have already been read! 📖☀️
Keep up the amazing work, Eagles! We're so proud of your dedication to reading! ❤️📚

Mrs. Stuart is SO excited to put this support to work purchasing new art supplies for our artists! We can’t wait to see what our Eagles create when their imaginations have the tools to take flight. 🖍️🎨

Our 4th and 5th graders had an out-of-this-world science experience today as our Science Lab teacher, Mrs. Wertz, welcomed WPBF meteorologist Nikki Sheaks to Hobe Sound Elementary! 📺☀️🌧️
Nikki shared fascinating information about climate, temperature, and weather-related events, but she also gave our Eagles a glimpse into the many possibilities that come with a career in meteorology. 🎓💼
Students learned about the educational path to becoming a broadcast meteorologist and discovered that meteorology careers extend far beyond the television studio! From event meteorologists and business meteorologists to careers with government agencies, there are so many ways to turn a love of weather and science into a career. 🌎🔬
And our favorite fun facts of the day? 🤯
🔥 Firenados are real!
❄️ And so are snownados!
A huge thank-you to Nikki Sheaks for inspiring our Eagles to stay curious, ask questions, and explore the many possibilities that science can bring.

Just a heads up—our first day off from school is coming up this weekend! Schools and District offices will be CLOSED Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

Our first two weeks have been filled with building routines, meeting new friends, and laying the groundwork for collaborative learning.
Here’s just a little glimpse into what’s been happening in our Related Arts classrooms:
📚 Mrs. Parrilli has been collecting summer reading logs, and she is so excited to celebrate all of our summer readers! 📖✨
🏐 Coach has been creating fun, engaging games centered around throwing and catching while students build their skills and teamwork.
🎶💃 Ms. Allen has introduced musical concepts like largo and presto and brought those ideas to life through dance. How fun is that?!
🎨🌿 Mrs. Stuart’s primary students have been exploring texture through relief printing and nature rubbings—turning the world around them into inspiration for their artwork!
🏆Admin team has been busy with a dozen or more positive office visits and our VIP wall is filling up with student signatures!
At HSE, we know that learning happens in so many wonderful ways. We are building skills, creating connections, discovering new interests, and having a whole lot of fun along the way!
