📢 Thunderbird Families — Look for RED tomorrow! ❤️📁

Tomorrow during 1st period, every IMS student will receive their new Thunderbird Communication Folder! Each student will receive a red folder featuring our Thunderbird logo that will help us create a consistent way to send important information between school and home.

Students should keep this folder inside their AVID binder throughout the year. Families, we encourage you to check the red folder regularly for:
📄 Flyers & school information
📝 Permission slips and forms
📅 Calendars and upcoming events
📣 Other important information for families

Tomorrow’s folder will already have some important information inside, so be sure to ask your Thunderbird to show you their new red folder when they get home! ❤️🖤

Our goal is to make communication between IMS and our families easier, more consistent, and easier for students to keep organized.

See RED? Check the folder! 📁👀

🚨NOTICE ABOUT DISTRICT PHONES🚨

Some callers are experiencing intermittent issues when trying to reach District offices and school sites. At this time, the issue is affecting some incoming calls only, and outgoing calls remain operational.

While our Education Technology team works with the phone carriers to resolve this issue, families and community members can use the staff directory at martinschools.org to contact the appropriate employee or department via email or submit an inquiry through OnFlo.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to restore normal service. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

🌿🐢 Learning Beyond the Classroom! 🌊🔬 Earlier this week, some of our 7th grade Thunderbirds had the opportunity to visit the Environmental Studies Center for a day of hands-on learning and exploration! Our students were able to take what they’ve been learning in the classroom and experience science in action while exploring our local environment. We love opportunities that allow our students to learn, discover, and make connections outside of the classroom! ❤️🖤 And we’re not done yet! We have two more groups of 7th graders heading to the Environmental Studies Center next week. We can’t wait for them to have the same great experience! #ProudToBeAThunderbird #LearningInAction #EnvironmentalEducation #IMS

🇺🇸CELEBRATING CONSTITUTION WEEK🇺🇸

Constitution Week officially begins on September 17, but Martin County School District students are already getting a head start!

Further highlighting the importance of this annual observance, the Martin County School Board approved the 2026 Constitution Week Proclamation at Tuesday night's meeting, developed with Ms. Rae Scimeca and the Halpatiokee Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

As we recognize the 239th anniversary of the signing of the U.S. Constitution, students across the District will spend the week learning about the document that continues to shape our nation and protect our freedoms.

Here’s how to join us on Dolly Parton Day, a.k.a. 9/2-5:

🇺🇸 Celebrating Constitution Week at IMS! 🇺🇸 Today, our U.S. History students had the opportunity to hear from local attorney Anthony George as part of our Constitution Week activities! Mr. George spoke with students about the U.S. Constitution, helping bring what they are learning in the classroom to life through a real-world perspective. We are grateful to him for taking the time to share his knowledge and experience with our Thunderbirds! This is just one of the many ways we are recognizing Constitution Week at IMS and helping our students understand the importance of the Constitution and its role in our country. ❤️🖤🇺🇸 #ConstitutionWeek #ProudToBeAThunderbird #IMS
