Our 8th grade Science teachers have been going above and beyond to help students prepare for their state assessment on May 19th 🔬📅
Mrs. Crossan and Mrs. Skerven collaborated to create engaging station review activities designed to reinforce key science concepts in an interactive way. Students rotated through multiple stations in both classrooms—and even extended their learning into the connecting science lab 🧪🏫
These stations gave students the opportunity to review content, collaborate with peers, and strengthen their understanding through hands-on learning and active engagement 💡🤝

The 8th Annual Cardboard Boat Races took over the Martin County High School pool today—and yes, there were boats that floated… and boats that absolutely did not. 😂🌊
This year was extra fun with middle school joining for the first time!
🏆 Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School swept the speed awards in middle school and also took home Most Spirited Team!
🏆 Crystal Lake Elementary School dominated the elementary speed awards, while Bessey Creek Elementary School brought the spirit and earned Most Spirited Team!

As part of SC.6.P.13.1, students explored different types of forces and worked toward their learning target:
👉 understanding the relationship between mass, strength, and force.
Their challenge?
Design the ultimate Tug-of-War team! 🤔 Students developed hypotheses, tested their ideas, and analyzed their results to see what really makes a team strong.
From teamwork to critical thinking, this hands-on activity brought science to life in the best way! 👏
