The students in Mrs. McIntyre’s first-grade class put their sentence building and expository writing skills to the test by explaining the steps for making a PB&J sandwich. 🥪
We followed their exact instructions… and let’s just say we had a lot of fun along the way! It quickly became clear how important good details are when giving directions. Great writing leads to great sandwiches!

Our 5th grade students had a special visit from the Stuart Middle School Band! 🎶
The talented SMS band students gave a fantastic performance and shared a little about what it’s like to be part of the band program in middle school. It was a fun and inspiring experience for our students as they begin thinking about the exciting opportunities waiting for them next year. Students heading to middle school will have the option to join band, and this performance gave them a great glimpse into what that experience can look like.
A big thank you to their band director, Ms. Roberts, for bringing the band to JBE, and a shoutout to our own music teacher, Mr. Skrobinski, who even joined in on the trombone! 🎺

The student officers from our Eco Action Team recently partnered with the Environmental Studies Center Council to help present a special evening with author and illustrator Janeen Mason.
During the event, our Eco Action Team officers helped bring the story from Ms. Mason’s book to life through readers theater, creating a fun and engaging experience for everyone in attendance.

Our JBE students recently took time to reflect on our nation’s history and Florida’s role in shaping it by participating in the America 250FL Art Contest.
As part of the project, students explored how Florida contributes to our country in many ways, from space exploration and agriculture to tourism, military training, innovation, and environmental stewardship.
Their creativity and thoughtfulness really shined through in their artwork. We are so proud of the amazing pieces they created! 💙💛

💰 Math is making cents in Ms. Creager’s classroom! 💰
Ms. Creager’s first graders have been busy learning how to identify coins and tell their values. Students practiced recognizing pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters while counting and adding them together. Through hands-on activities and games, our young mathematicians are building important money skills and confidence with numbers!

Our 5th grade students recently participated in the National School Bus Safety Poster Contest during art enrichment class. This year’s theme, “Safe Rides, Everyday Heroes,” encouraged students to think about the importance of bus safety and the people who help make safe transportation possible every day.

🍀💚 What an amazing day at the Jensen Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade! 💚🍀 Our JBE cheerleaders, hype squad, and basketball teams brought the spirit, the smiles, and the serious energy as they represented our school with pride. The crowd loved them — and honestly, who wouldn’t? And the best surprise of all… we got a special visit from our brand‑new mascot! 🎉 The excitement on the kids’ faces said it all. Our teachers spent our early release day learning strategies to strengthen explicit instruction and increase opportunities for student response (OTRs) with support from district literacy specialist Courtney Beard.
The focus was on keeping students actively thinking, participating, and engaged in their learning. After the training, teams jumped into planning how they’ll bring these strategies into their classrooms.
A big shoutout to our teachers for always being willing to learn, grow, and find new ways to support our Vikings. We’re excited to see these ideas in action! 💙💛

Our campus was full of Viking pride at the JBE Basketball Tournament! 💙🏀💛
Our basketball teams did an amazing job, showing great teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the games. We were also thrilled to see our Cheer Squad and Hype Squad bring the energy with fantastic halftime performances that had the whole crowd cheering.
A huge thank you to the many staff members who worked behind the scenes to organize such a fun and memorable event, and to the families who came out to support and cheer on our students. Your enthusiasm made the day even more special.
We were also honored to have Superintendent Maine and Director Calderone join us for the event. One of the highlights of the day was the halftime “Maine Event” free throw competition, where they squared off against Principal Smith and Assistant Principal Law.

After reading Flat Stanley, our 2nd graders created their very own “Flat People” and took a special walking field trip to the post office to mail them! 🚶♀️📮
The staff at the post office were wonderful and took time to show our students how the mail system works—from collecting letters to sorting and sending them across the country. It was a great hands-on way to connect our reading to the real world!
If you’re one of the lucky recipients of a Flat Person from our class, keep an eye on your mailbox—they’re officially on their way! We can’t wait to see where their adventures take them.
