Are you ready to get your math on Martin County School District?! MCSD Math Week is back for the second year!
Next week (April 15-19), we are celebrating math in style and highlighting the many careers using math every day. Students can participate in daily math challenges and compete with others from across the District for prizes. All grade levels are invited to participate!

☀️ SOLAR ECLIPSE SAFETY ☀️
Reminder: At approximately 1:48 p.m., Martin County will begin to experience a partial solar eclipse.
This happens when the moon passes directly between Earth and the sun, momentarily casting a shadow and blocking the sun's light.
Martin County will not experience a "totality" like other parts of the country and can expect to see approximately 51% coverage of the sun.
It is NEVER safe to look directly into the sun with the naked eye. For more information on how to view the solar eclipse next week, please visit: https://www.martinschools.org/article/1532351

Mrs. Thibodeau and Ms. Cathy's JBE VPK Mini-Vikings had an opportunity to visit the House of Hope Traveling Garden today. The children used their senses of sight, touch, and smell to explore the different colors and textures in the variety of plants in the garden. We even had two children taste purple cauliflower and they liked it! The children enjoyed this opportunity and what great timing as we just began the "Watch it Grow" unit of our curriculum. Thank you to the House of Hope for providing our students with this awesome opportunity!
Everyone wins when you incorporate food into lessons. Mrs. Clark's 2nd graders used cookies and water to help them better understand the process of erosion.
In the media center, Ms. Lunt’s students learned about the life of Cesar Chavez. Thank you to Ms. Baumgartner and our JBE volunteers.

Mrs. Ryan's kindergarten class loved getting to learn about fire safety! 🚒
Ms. Lunt and Mrs. Bayless’ class had a great time learning all about fire safety with the Martin County Fire Department. Thank you to our community partners.
