We’re halfway through our week of looking back at our staff’s adventures in the community!
Our staff also spent time with two familiar Jensen Beach businesses, Publix and Chick-fil-A. Beyond being places many of our students, families, and staff know well, local businesses are an important part of the community we share. Our teams enjoyed connecting with the people behind these businesses and learning more about the teamwork and service that happen every day.
Thank you to our Jensen Beach Publix and Chick-fil-A teams for taking the time to welcome our staff and be part of our back-to-school experience. We are so thankful for local businesses that support our community and help make Jensen Beach feel like home! 💙💛

Our staff had the opportunity to learn more about the resources, services, and people behind these organizations and the many ways they serve our Jensen Beach community. Experiences like these help us make stronger connections between our school, our families, and the community around us.

💙💛 JBE in the Community: A Back-to-School Throwback | Part 1 of 5 All week long, we’re taking a look back at one of our favorite parts of our back-to-school launch! Before welcoming our Vikings back to campus, our staff headed out into Jensen Beach and the surrounding community to learn more about the people, places, and organizations that make our community so special. We’re kicking off our weeklong series with the Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast! Our team had the opportunity to explore, learn, and see firsthand the incredible experiences available to children and families right here in our community. A huge thank you to the Children’s Museum for welcoming our staff and sharing your time with us. We are so grateful for community partners who invest in our children and help make the Treasure Coast such a wonderful place to learn and grow! 💙💛

Our mathematicians worked together, shared strategies, and learned from one another as we kicked off Topic 3: Adding Within 100! ➕✨
We’re learning that in math, there’s more than one way to solve a problem—and sometimes our friends help us see it in a whole new way! 🧩🤝📚
🍭 Multiplication properties have never been so sweet!
Mrs. Curtner’s third graders have been putting their multiplication skills into action with some creative, hands-on learning! Students explored multiplication properties through edible creations and flower shop projects, making math both meaningful and fun.
We love seeing our Vikings learning, creating, and building their math skills along the way! 💙💛

🇺🇸 Celebrating Constitution Week at JBE! 🇺🇸 Our fifth-grade students had the opportunity to welcome Loretta Hall, Esq. as a special guest speaker in celebration of Constitution Week! Ms. Hall shared her knowledge about the U.S. Constitution, our system of government, and the important role attorneys play in upholding the law. Our Vikings were engaged, asked great questions, and left inspired. In fact, a few students are now thinking they might want to become attorneys themselves one day! ⚖️ Thank you, Ms. Hall, for sharing your time and expertise with our students and helping bring their learning to life! 💙💛
Bringing Jensen Beach history to life! 📚
Mrs. Pendergast’s 5th Grade class welcomed two special community guests, Ron Rose, President & CEO of the Jensen Beach Chamber of Commerce, and Ann Kagdis, President of the History Museum of Jensen Beach.
As part of the students’ Quarter 1 Gifted Project, Ron and Ann shared stories from Jensen Beach’s history and helped our students explore the theme of perseverance through the people and events that shaped our community. What a meaningful way for our Vikings to connect their classroom learning to the history right outside our doors!
A huge thank you to Ron and Ann for sharing their time, knowledge, and love of Jensen Beach with our students, and to Mrs. Pendergast for creating opportunities that make learning meaningful and memorable. We are so grateful for community partners who help bring learning to life at JBE! 💙💛

💙💛 Viking Spirit was in full force at our first Spirit Assembly of the year!
We loved coming together as a school to recognize our Students of the Month for Citizenship! 🌟 These Vikings were recognized for being positive members of our school community and showing through their actions what it means to be a great citizen at JBE. We are so proud of them!
We also celebrated our classes for earning Compliment Coins as part of our PBIS system! 👏 Classes earn coins when they are “caught” demonstrating positive behavior throughout our school, and our Vikings have been doing an amazing job!
Congratulations to our Students of the Month and to all of our classes earning Compliment Coins. What a great way to kick off our Spirit Assemblies this year!

What a sweet night at The Scoop! 🍦💙💛
Our JBE staff traded classrooms for ice cream scoops, serving up treats while our Viking families came out to support our PTA Giveback Night!
Thank you to The Scoop for hosting us, to our amazing staff members who jumped behind the counter, and to all of our families who stopped by. We love any opportunity to spend time together while supporting our school.

We loved welcoming our Kindergarten and 1st Grade families for our UFLI Family Night! Mrs. Boudreau and Mrs. Engel led families through the UFLI routines and strategies our students use in the classroom to build strong foundational reading skills.
Families had the opportunity to learn more about how we teach early literacy and ways they can reinforce those same skills at home. When families and schools work together, our Vikings benefit! 💙💛

We are so excited to welcome Mr. Milligan to JBE as an ESE paraprofessional! Originally from Long Island, New York, Andrew moved to Florida to attend the University of Tampa, where he earned his degree in Physical Education. He has been an educator since 2012 and brings years of experience working with and supporting students.
When he’s not at school, Andrew enjoys spending time at the beach, long-distance running, watching movies, playing video games, and trivia nights with friends.

Mrs. Clark’s 2nd graders traveled around the world while learning about different habitats and researching the plants and animals that live there. 🌿🦁🌊 Then, they brought their learning to life with their very own habitat dioramas! 📦✨

It was wonderful to attend the Martin County School District’s State of the District event and hear Superintendent Michael Maine share the great work happening across our schools and the exciting things ahead.
I was especially happy to have Tammy Calabria, Executive Director of The Children’s Museum of the Treasure Coast, join me as JBE’s community partner. We are so grateful for the partnerships that connect our school with our community and create meaningful opportunities for our students.
It was also great to see our amazing JBE PTA President, Andi McAvoy, there supporting our schools and representing our Viking community!
