It is a great day to be a Falcon! Our new Community Partner Chick-Fil-A gave us lots of incentives for our students and staff. Today in period 2 all the classes with perfect attendance got free sandwich gift cards . We had 11 classes with perfect attendance.

This morning, we are shining a spotlight on Jensen Beach High School senior Kasey Davis!
"We are so very proud of Kasey's accomplishments," proud mom Stephanie shared. "Proud member and officer of the Air Force JROTC, bowling champion, former JV baseball player and all around great young man. After graduation he plans on pursuing the United States Air Force as a Firefighter. Until then, he will continue to work at Jensen Beach UPS, Coach baseball, and stay an active Cadet with St.Lucie County Fire. His love of life, determination and faith will allow him to accomplish all he sets out to do! On Thursday, March 21st we will be on an Activity Bell Schedule to continue with the Suite 360 Learning Modules.
DATE CORRECTION: SGA and Leadership will hold the first annual wing-a-thon at Buffalo Wild Wings, on March 25th at 6:30 pm. Individuals are encouraged to sign up in their classes' Google Classroom page. Only JBHS students and staff are permitted to participate. The entry fee is $15.00, and all funds will go to SGA/Leadership charitable endeavors. The deadline to register is March 20th. Please help us make this a successful event. If you have any questions or concerns see Mrs. Lavelle in room 122 or Mrs. Pankhurst in room 121.
Senator Rick Scott's District Coordinator will be visiting Thursday, March 28th at 11:05, to explain to all interested juniors how to apply to the Military Academies. The application window is open now until October 18th. Interested juniors need to sign up in the JROTC classroom, room 147. The event will be held in the media center or auditorium, depending on how many juniors sign up.
Students interested in running for a Class Officer or SGA Officer position: There will be a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, March 26th at 7:45 am and 3:15 pm in room 122. You are only required to attend ONE of the two meeting options. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Lavelle in room 122 or Mrs. Pankhurst in room 121.

"Mark has always been a thinker, problem solver, and builder," proud mom Jessica shared. "He was selected as student of the month by one of his most influential teachers, Mr. Thurman. From fixing up things he finds on the side of the road to scuba diving, rock climbing or disc golfing- Mark has many passions and interests and is always up for an adventure. He spends his summers as a boat mechanic in St. Thomas and works at Ark Marine here in Jensen Beach. We are so proud of all you have achieved and can’t wait to see you make your 'mark' on the world!"
Mark plans to attend the University of Central Florida and study chemical engineering.

This morning, we are shining a spotlight on Jensen Beach High School senior Emilie Sullivan!
"Emilie is a hardworking, talented, and kind young lady," proud mom Kayla shared. "She began playing the flute in 4th grade, while attending elementary school in Pennsylvania. In 6th grade, she suffered an injury requiring surgery, and was told she may never play the flute again. She prayed and trusted God to do the impossible, and He did!"
"In 8th grade, she was awarded Outstanding Musician of the Year at Stuart Middle School" Kayla continued. "She has been a proud member of the Jensen Beach High School band, performing with the concert band, symphonic band, marching band, pep bands, and has participated in Music in Our Schools and the IRSC - Indian River State College Honors Band. While many seniors embrace their off-block periods, Emilie chose to surrender hers so she could participate in concert band - specifically desiring to help the incoming freshmen pursue their love of music."
"Mr. Dougherty has been a tremendous influence in her life. He believed in her, continued to challenge her, and encouraged her. Because of the JBHS band family, Emilie has courage and confidence. She is committed to "soar" into her future," Kayla shared.
Emilie plans to attend IRSC - Indian River State College and study Music and Education.

The performing Arts Department was very busy last week. Jubilate hosted and performed in MPAs and scored all superiors. Our Band program traveled to Vero Beach HIgh School. They score superiors and earned 1's for sight reading. The Falcons are SOARING. #ItsGreat2BaFalcon

The JV flag football team travelled to Okeechobee last night and won 34-0. The Varsity team followed that up with a 33-0 win. The JV team plays Saturday in the Treasure Coast JV Throwdown Tournament. Good luck girls!
