Odyssey of the Mind Members, the first meeting will take place in Room 208 after school on Wednesday with Coach Carannante.
Students: Packets for the HoCo Dance, for both students and guests, are available in Student Services. These may be picked up before/after school or during lunch. (NOT during class time!)
Ticket sales will take place on the following dates/times:
October 15-23 during lunches (approx. 12:00-1:30 pm) in the auditorium lobby.
Parents: We will need about 8 volunteers for selling tickets, going through obligation lists, etc.
(NOTE: October 15 is PSAT, so it will be an alternate bell schedule- once we know exact times, we will share them out)

On Friday, 10/17, all 9th graders will participate in the “Speak Life” District Initiative. An announcement will be made around 9:30 to have all 9th graders report to the auditorium. Please leave all belongings in the 2nd-period classrooms.
Science National Honor Society members, an extension has been made, and dues for NEW and existing members are due NO LATER than our next meeting on 10/15. You may drop them off to Mrs. Allen before OR after school or during period 7. $35 for new members, $15 for returning members.
Senior tutors are needed on campus Tuesdays and Thursdays during 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and 6th periods IF you have an off block during one or more of these periods. You will earn volunteer hours AND it will look great on an application or resume! Stop by the Innovation Center OR email Mrs. Wintercorn at winterj@martinschools.org if you are willing and able to help.

Congratulations to the football team on their big win over John Carroll on Friday night!
For any girl interested in playing Flag football this year, conditioning will start Monday, October 27th, from 3:30-5 at the stadium. It will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays. You must have a complete physical uploaded to the athletic clearance website and a minimum of a 2.0 GPA. Any questions, please see Coach Gilly in room 119.

Bullying Prevention Awareness Day USA 2025 is a crucial annual observance that focuses on raising awareness about the prevalence and harmful effects of bullying, especially among children and teenagers. This day serves as a reminder of the importance of creating safe and inclusive environments for all individuals, free from bullying and harassment. Bullying Prevention Awareness Day encourages individuals, schools, communities, and organizations to take action against bullying and promote kindness, respect, and empathy. On October 22nd, please wear ORANGE, which symbolizes unity against bullying.
SPORTS NEWS
The Boys’ Bowling team returned to their winning ways, defeating Centennial 2-0. Junior Lucas Lloyd rolled the team high game, a 231, leading the team to their highest game of the season, a 1043. Senior Aiden Wintercorn’s 410 series and Freshman Max Law’s 387 series helped the Falcons earn the win.
The Lady Falcons remain undefeated on the year, defeating Centennial 2-0. Senior Christen Bell rolled a personal best game of 224, and Senior Dani Bell added a 189 to lead the girls to their highest game of the season, a 798. Christen also recorded her season-best series total of 386. Both teams will face Fort Pierce Central on Tuesday at Jensen Beach Bowl.

JBHS is hosting its first blood drive of the year tomorrow, Thursday, 10/9, in the auditorium lobby. Students will get snacks and a Halloween t-shirt.
You need to be 16 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds to donate.

Remember, 30% of the blood for this entire region comes from high school blood drives, so your participation is very important for the community.

SPORTS NEWS
The girls’ bowling team defeated South Fork in two games, winning the first by just one pin. Seniors Dani Bell and Lizzie Fitzwater led the Lady Falcons series of 323 and 301, respectively, to remain undefeated on the season. The boys’ team suffered a tough loss, their first of the season, by just 4 pins in the last game of the Baker tie break. Senior Aiden Wintercorn rolled games of 239 and 264, while Junior Russell Law added games of 193 and 203 to lead the Falcons. Both teams compete against Centennial High School on Thursday at Jensen Beach Bowl, starting at 3:00 pm.
