⚖️CELEBRATING CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARS⚖️ In partnership with the YMCA of The Treasure Coast and Florida YMCA Youth In Government, student teams from Jensen Beach High School, Martin County High School and South Fork High School competed in the 2024 Constitutional Debate Competition on Friday, February 2. Each team debated the U.S. Supreme Court case “Mahoney Area School District vs B.L.” before presiding 19th Judicial Circuit Court judges - the Honorable Kathleen Roberts and the Honorable Jennifer Alcorta Waters. During the debate, students made opening and closing arguments and answered questions from the judges. The two teams advancing in the competition are Nira Goyal (Senior) & Nina Goyal (Freshman) from MCHS and Savannah Kautz (Junior) & Ameera Mehan (Junior) from SFHS. The Beach Announcements: Wednesday, January 31, 2024 This year's 2024 Youth Driven Cinema, hosted by Inwater Research Group, is your opportunity to showcase YOUR FILM on the BIG SCREEN for a live theatre audience! Submissions should be focused on local or global conservation topics, with an emphasis on how we can create a better tomorrow for our planet. Please note: Submissions that go above and beyond topics such as recycling, clean-ups, etc. will receive preference. Seniors, SENIOR SUPERLATIVES ARE BACK!! This is your chance to elect your friends for placement in the yearbook. Please go to the Senior’s Google Classroom to access the Google form’s link and fill out the survey nominating your senior picks. Peer Forward presents, “FAFSA Help” today, Wednesday, from 6-7 PM in the Media Center. Parents and Seniors are welcome. A Representative from IRSC will be discussing the FAFSA application requirements and process. MCSD is hosting a college and career fair for all Juniors and Seniors on February 8, from 5:30-7:00 PM. It will take place in the School Board room at 1939 SE Federal Highway, Stuart. All Juniors and Seniors and their parents are welcome. The next SGA general member meeting will be held on Feb. 1st at 7:45 am in the cafeteria. The focus of the meeting will be preparing for the next pep rally. Seniors, IRSC is back with the Promise Pledge! This is a phenomenal opportunity for those in the Class of 2024 to earn an Associate Degree tuition-free! IRSC will be on campus Wednesday mornings at a table in the courtyard if you want more information. Celebrate Literacy Week 2024 is in the past, but Genre Bingo will continue through May 10. Come to the media center for more details! Seniors: Today is the LAST DAY to select a senior ad to celebrate this momentous year. Please have your parents go online to Walsworth's website https://yearbookforever.com to do so. This is also where you can buy a yearbook and a commercial advertisement. Seniors—GradBash is closer than you think! The time to place your ticket order is NOW. All orders must be in by Friday, February 23. That's next month! Bring your fully completed GradBash packet and check or cash payment to Ms. Nicholas in room 247. Don't miss out on this fun celebration! SPORTS NEWS Congratulations to the boys’ varsity basketball team who beat Bayside last night, and our boys’ soccer team who won their district playoff game! Way to go, Falcons! Good luck to our girls’ basketball team who plays TCHS tonight at home. JV begins at 5:00 and varsity plays at 6:30. Come on out to cheer them on! Let’s go, Falcons!
