⚖️COURT IS IN SESSION⚖️ On Friday, April 14th, three teams of two students from Jensen Beach High School, Martin County High School and South Fork High School competed in the final stage of the 2023 Constitutional Debate Competition. The three teams chose which side they wanted to defend in the Supreme Court Case No. 21-418, Kennedy v. Bremerton School District. Each team was given two minutes of opening and closing statements with a question and answer session from Fourth District Court of Appeal Judge Alan Forst and 19th Judicial Circuit County Judge Kathleen Roberts in between. After the teams presented, the judges went to their chambers at the YMCA of The Treasure Coast to make a decision. They say it was a very difficult decision, but ultimately, the judges ruled the team of Laurali Firestone and Nira Goyal came away as the winners. 🥇Laurali Firestone & Nira Goyal-- Martin County High School 🥈Courtney Jones & Joshua Eatman--Jensen Beach High School 🥉Benjamin McCulley & Dexter Paulson-- South Fork High School Thank you to the judges for taking time out of their busy schedules to be part of this process. Sports News The Varsity baseball team will play today here at home. Their game begins at 6:00 PM. Come on out to cheer them on! The Varsity Flag Football team beat Pahokee last night 19-0 in District Quarterfinal Action. QB Paige Bressman threw 3 TD passes, 1 each to Dalia Yazji, Kamalani McFadden, and Mia Quiles. Crystal Appadoo and Sofia Cobo pressured the opposing QB all night, getting several sacks and forcing an INT to Yasmin Newson. The team plays Suncoast tonight in the District Semi-Finals at 6 pm in the Birdcage. Come out and support the team! The softball team will travel to SFHS to play the Bulldogs tonight at 6:30. 🌳🎨INSPIRED BY NATURE🎨🌳 About 80 students from Martin County High School, South Fork High School, Jensen Beach High School and Clark Advanced Learning Center recently gathered at Memorial Park in Downtown Stuart for a day full of art! MartinArts partners with local artists and hosts our students to help grow their artistic talents through different mediums. These artists share their lessons in art and life as professional artists. Students practiced in the art of ceramics, field sketching, acrylic, indigo dyeing and photography while enjoying a beautiful day outside and using nature as their muse.
