⚖️COURT IS IN SESSION⚖️
On Friday, April 14th, three teams of two students from Jensen Beach High School, Martin County High School and South Fork High School competed in the final stage of the 2023 Constitutional Debate Competition.
The three teams chose which side they wanted to defend in the Supreme Court Case No. 21-418, Kennedy v. Bremerton School District.
Each team was given two minutes of opening and closing statements with a question and answer session from Fourth District Court of Appeal Judge Alan Forst and 19th Judicial Circuit County Judge Kathleen Roberts in between.
After the teams presented, the judges went to their chambers at the YMCA of The Treasure Coast to make a decision.
They say it was a very difficult decision, but ultimately, the judges ruled the team of Laurali Firestone and Nira Goyal came away as the winners.

"Gianna has attended Martin County Schools her entire life- and Oh, the Memories," proud parent Randi shared. "From Chorus to Choir to Jubilate - Gianna started singing as a baby, and keeps going! You can catch her at her second home, the Visionary School of Arts, an art teacher in their Summer Camp and during the school year...Is Civil Engineering considered an art? There are so many choices to make! Shout out to all the teachers and coaches helping her along the way- she is one who can endure and triumph. She is proud to love God and Neighbor, and I am a very proud parent. I pray you experience all the beauty this life has to offer."

The 3A District 14 Track & Field meet was held last night, and 7 athletes from JBHS will continue on to the Regional competition. They are:
Nicholas Colbert who again won 1st place in both the boys 1-mile and 2-mile runs, breaking the school record with a 2-mile finish time of 9 minutes & 30 seconds!
Justin Cannata took 3rd place in the 1 mile and 4th in the 2 mile,
Chloe Haley with 3rd place in the girls’ javelin,
Khaliya Hall with 4th place in the girls’ shot put, and
Chloe Haley, Zoe Gozdz, Genevieve Schmidt, and Ava Vancour for taking 3rd place in the girls’ 4x800 relay.

The Varsity baseball team will play today here at home. Their game begins at 6:00 PM. Come on out to cheer them on!
The Varsity Flag Football team beat Pahokee last night 19-0 in District Quarterfinal Action. QB Paige Bressman threw 3 TD passes, 1 each to Dalia Yazji, Kamalani McFadden, and Mia Quiles. Crystal Appadoo and Sofia Cobo pressured the opposing QB all night, getting several sacks and forcing an INT to Yasmin Newson.
The team plays Suncoast tonight in the District Semi-Finals at 6 pm in the Birdcage. Come out and support the team!
The softball team will travel to SFHS to play the Bulldogs tonight at 6:30.

About 80 students from Martin County High School, South Fork High School, Jensen Beach High School and Clark Advanced Learning Center recently gathered at Memorial Park in Downtown Stuart for a day full of art!
MartinArts partners with local artists and hosts our students to help grow their artistic talents through different mediums. These artists share their lessons in art and life as professional artists.
Students practiced in the art of ceramics, field sketching, acrylic, indigo dyeing and photography while enjoying a beautiful day outside and using nature as their muse.

Attention Juniors and Seniors: PROM tickets go on sale during lunches starting Monday, April 24. Pick up your forms and information packet from Ms. Nicholas in room 247 or in the Dean's Office. All forms must be completed and signed prior to purchasing tickets.

We will be collecting art supplies to donate to the children’s department of Shands Hospital from now until Friday, April 21st! You can donate items such as:
Coloring books
Color by number books
How-to-draw books
Crayons
Colored pencils
Craft paper
Washable markers
Sticker books
Sketchbooks
All items can be dropped off in Mrs. Duchene's room. Please feel free to donate as much as you would like to support this great cause! You can earn up to 5 service hours for donations. A special thank you to Cameron Kindig for getting NHS involved in the drive!

Congratulations to Nic Colbert for winning first place in the boys' 1-mile and 2 -mile running events at the Treasure Lake Conference on Friday night. Good luck to Nic and the rest of the team as they travel to Blanche Ely High School on Wednesday for the District Track & Field Competition.
