9/25 = 9-2-5! ๐๐ฆ
The Martin County School Board has officially proclaimed September 25, 2026, as Dolly Parton Day throughout the Martin County School District! ๐๐
The day celebrates Dolly Partonโs remarkable contributions to children and literacy, along with the impact of programs like Dolly Partonโs Imagination Library in helping young readers build a lifelong love of books.
Weโre proud to celebrate alongside the Childrenโs Services Council of Martin County and The Library Foundation of Martin County as we encourage our school community to read, dream and grow together.
Hereโs how to join us on Dolly Parton Day, a.k.a. 9/2-5:
๐Read for at least 30 minutes on September 25.
๐Get a library card and make your next great read easier to find.
๐Have a child age 5 or under? Sign up for Dolly Partonโs Imagination Library to receive free books at home.
And, of course, dress the part! Think pink, rhinestones, boots and big hair. Or, dress in your favorite college team to represent the coat of many colors! ๐ขโจ๐

Our MCHS AVID students had the privilege of welcoming Laura O'Neil from Big Brothers Big Sisters to learn about their incredible School-to-Work Program!
This program connects students with professional mentors, introduces them to exciting career pathways, helps develop workplace skills, and provides valuable real-world experiences as they prepare for life beyond high school.
Laura also shared her personal journey working in the nonprofit sector and spoke passionately about the fulfillment that comes from helping others. Her story was a powerful reminder that success is not only about building a career, but also about making a positive impact in the lives of others.
What a fantastic opportunity for our students to explore future possibilities, build meaningful connections, and see firsthand how passion and purpose can shape a rewarding career. Thank you, Laura, for inspiring our Tigers and investing in their future!

Twenty-five years ago, our nation experienced one of the most tragic days in its history. On this 25th Anniversary of September 11, MCHS pauses to honor the lives lost, the heroes who courageously served others, and the families forever impacted by that day.
For our students, 9/11 is a historical event they have learned about in school. Yet the lessons it teaches remain as important today as ever: courage, service, resilience, compassion, and unity.
As we reflect on this anniversary, let us remember that our greatest strength is found in caring for one another, supporting our communities, and standing together in times of challenge. May we honor the legacy of those we lost by leading lives of character, kindness, and service.
Today, we remember. Today, we reflect. Today, we honor.
โค๏ธ๐ค๐ May we always remember.

Students in Mrs. Kalwa's AP Art History class took a hands-on approach to exploring one of the world's most famous prehistoric monuments, Stonehenge! Using LEGO bricks, students worked collaboratively to recreate the iconic megalithic structure while learning about the engineering, purpose, and cultural significance of this ancient architectural wonder.
By transforming history into a creative building challenge, students gained a deeper understanding of how prehistoric societies designed and constructed monumental spaces long before modern technology. Learning came to life as they connected art, architecture, history, and teamwork through every brick they placed!
Who knew studying ancient architecture could be this much fun? ๐๐จ๐
