Dual Enrollment allows high school students to take college‑level courses through IRSC—earning both high school and college credit at the same time. These grades become part of their permanent academic record, so strong performance is essential for future scholarships and financial aid.
Eligibility Requirements:
✔️ 3.0 unweighted GPA
✔️ College‑ready scores on PERT, CLT, PSAT, SAT, or ACT
✔️ Students must complete the IRSC application before PERT testing (first attempt is free)
Important Reminders for Families:
• Students must follow the IRSC academic calendar and avoid conflicts with high school schedules.
• Transportation to IRSC is the student’s responsibility.
• Early meetings with an IRSC advisor are encouraged.
• First‑time Dual Enrollment students may take up to two classes their first semester.

This is an amazing FREE opportunity for juniors to take the ACT during the school day, right here on campus — and scores are fully reportable to colleges and universities. 🎯📘

💻 The ACT will be administered online.

Marin plans to attend Florida State University and major in Criminology.

This afternoon, we are shining a spotlight on Martin County High School senior Ian Roman!
"I cannot begin to express how proud I am of Ian," mom Susan shared. "Every parent loves their child deeply, but our children have a way of opening our hearts to a kind of love that words can never fully express."
"Ian has always had a heart that puts others first. I cannot recall a time when he didn’t come to me and ask how my day was or if there was anything he could do to help. That kindness, that awareness of others, is who he is. Academics have not always come easily for him, but what defines Ian is not struggle; it’s perseverance. I have watched him push through frustration without complaint, determined to keep going, determined not to give up. That quiet strength is something I admire. The marching band has shaped Ian in ways that most people will never truly understand. For six years, he has poured his heart, his time, and every ounce of his energy into becoming a better saxophone player and a better member of the band. Through early mornings, long practices, competitions, and countless performances, grueling band camps, he found more than music…he found discipline, pride, and purpose. Most of all, he found his voice as a leader. Ian leads not by demanding respect, but by giving it. He leads with compassion, patience, and a genuine care for the people around him."

Indian River State College will be CLOSED from Monday, March 16 – Sunday, March 22 for Spring Break. This closure also means the IRSC Dual Enrollment team won’t be able to process documents or reply to emails during this time.
But don’t stress — here’s what is still available:
✨ The River Portal remains OPEN for Spring & Summer registration and payments throughout the entire break.

🎓💙 AVID College Exploration Continues! 💛🎓
Our 9th grade AVID Tigers had an exciting opportunity to visit Indian River State College and explore the many incredible programs offered across campus! 🐯✨
Students learned about a wide range of career pathways, including:
📈 Marketing & Business
🩺 Nursing
🦴 Radiology
🦷 Dentistry
🤖 Robotics
🚓 Law Enforcement
🚒 Firefighting
…and so much more!
They even enjoyed some hands‑on, unforgettable experiences—meeting firefighters and sitting inside a fire truck, stepping into the back of an ambulance, and watching a robot dog trot around the room! 🚒🤖🔥
It was an inspiring day for our students to see college up close, explore future possibilities, and start imagining the pathways ahead of them. Opportunities like this help our AVID students build confidence, curiosity, and a vision for their goals after high school! 🌟

The Admin Team organized this “out of the blue” celebration to honor the incredible commitment, professionalism, and positive energy staff bring to campus each day. The Tiger Team continues to make MCHS a place where students learn, grow, and thrive—thanks to unwavering effort and heart. 💛📚

"Her favorite memories include performing Country stand tunes and the 'Empire' halftime show at the football games. She plans to stay in Florida and has plans on earning a degree in Chemistry. Shout out to Mrs. Leon, Mrs. Rivers, Mrs. Drumm, Mrs. Manahan, Mrs. Sawczak, and all the amazing teachers who helped along the way!!"
