Our MCHS AVID students recently had the opportunity to learn more about careers in the technology industry, including what it takes to manage client relationships and deliver complex software solutions.
Through this career exploration experience, students gained valuable insight into the many pathways available in tech—from account management to client delivery and beyond. Real‑world examples helped students connect classroom skills to professional success and better understand how collaboration, communication, and problem‑solving play a critical role in the field.

He emphasized the importance of hard work, self‑advocacy, and believing in your vision, while showing how passion and persistence fuel long‑term success. Martin County High School’s own Coach John Leon has been named the 2024‑25 Florida Athletic Coaches Association Coach of the Year — and our Tiger Family couldn’t be prouder! 🎉
Since taking the helm in 2010, Coach Leon has built a powerhouse basketball program with a 313–71 record (.815!), 8 district championships, 12 regional playoff appearances, 2 Final Four trips, and a 2022 State Championship. 🔥
His impact goes far beyond the scoreboard. Coach Leon has helped 16+ athletes continue their careers in college, all while serving as a dedicated dean and mentor on campus for the past 12 years.
Superintendent Michael Maine sums it up best: Coach Leon sets the standard for excellence — pushing athletes to grow as competitors, students, and leaders.
As if that’s not enough… Coach Leon has now been nominated for the NHSACA National Coach of the Year!

MCHS AVID students recently had the incredible opportunity to hear from Raul Ocampo and his team from Architects Design Collaborative LLC!
Mr. Ocampo shared valuable insights into his career as an architect and encouraged students to think outside the box, challenge themselves, and push beyond their comfort zones.
Our students left feeling inspired and motivated to see what’s possible through creativity, hard work, and perseverance.
