The 2026 Kenan Fellows High School Student Summer Research Internship at The Herbert Wertheim UF Scripps Institute for Biomedical Innovation & Technology in Jupiter, FL offers:
✅ Full-time, 8-week PAID internship
✅ Work alongside world-class scientists tackling cancer, Alzheimer’s, coronavirus & more
✅ Hands-on experience in state-of-the-art labs across Chemistry, Immunology & Microbiology, Molecular Medicine, and Neuroscience

🦷✨ We loved learning from Shannon Reese, who joined our MCHS AVID students to share what it’s like to work as a dental hygienist!
Shannon walked students through the two-year degree pathway, explained program applications and requirements, and highlighted the skills needed to succeed in the field.
Students even got a hands-on reminder about proper brushing and flossing techniques—making learning both fun and practical!
We were especially excited to welcome her back to campus—Shannon is a former MCHS teacher, and as we say:

⚡🔧 We were thrilled to welcome Steve Gozdzialski of TerraPower to MCHS as an AVID guest speaker!
Steve shared his incredible journey in power generation, giving students a behind-the-scenes look at the training, certifications, and hands-on vocational pathways that lead to careers in the energy industry.
He also spoke about how his military experience shaped his leadership and work ethic, and offered a glimpse into the future of energy in the U.S. — from evolving technology to growing career opportunities.
