Hurricane Idalia is rapidly approaching the west coast of Florida and is expected to bring powerful winds and storm surge as it approaches Category 3 strength. While Martin County is not currently operating under any storm-related watches or warnings, our area is expected to experience heavy rains and wind gusts from the storm. Any time severe weather has the potential to impact our area, the Martin County School District works closely with national, state, and county management officials, including the Martin County Emergency Operations Center, to determine how operations may be impacted. Our top priority is to ensure the safety of our students, employees, and families. We will continue to monitor the path of the storm and will provide updates as needed through our mass notification (callout/text) system, website and social media channels. We encourage families and employees to make necessary preparations that will help ensure their safety during severe weather conditions, such as reviewing emergency plans and stocking up on essential supplies. We encourage you to take advantage of the Florida Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday, which began this past weekend. It lasts until Friday, September 8. We appreciate your patience, understanding and support as we continue to monitor local weather conditions.

🦅EAGLE EYE SENSE🦅 Martin County High School junior Patrick Moeller created an amazing sensory wall for Crystal Lake Elementary School as part of his Eagle Scout project! Sensory walls provide a stimulating environment that can increase concentration and focus attention, cognitive development through creativity and problem-solving skills, and so much more! Patrick planned, collected donations, designed and installed the wall for the Hawks. The students at CLE will surely love their new sensory wall! 🎨CELEBRATING CREATIVITY🎨 Martin County High School was recently awarded a Gold rating from the Florida Scholastic Press Association (FSPA) for their incredible work on their 2022-2023 yearbook! The rating tiers include All Florida, Gold, Silver, Bronze and Merit. The evaluation is voluntary, albeit incredibly thorough and provides extensive, actionable feedback. "I am thrilled that our rating reflects the hard work and dedication of our students," Ms. Haynes, the MCHS yearbook advisor, shared. ☀️🌊#MCSDSummerAdventures☀️🌊 Martin County High School student Kate and her brother Luke, a Stuart Middle School student, took a summer trip to the United Kingdom with their family! "We stayed in and explored London and Cambridge in England, and also Glasgow and Edinburgh in Scotland," mom Jacqueline shared. "It was fun to see so many sites and landmarks that have been important throughout world history. We saw Big Ben, the Tower of London, Kensington and Buckingham Palace, and much more. We braved the tube system 🚇 and “mind the gap” each time. We visited the National Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh and The British Museum in London. There we browsed through many exhibits of scientific, historical, and artistic importance. Kate has just completed the Cambridge Assessment International Education program at MCHS, so visiting the University of Cambridge was especially enriching. Both students also row with Treasure Coast Rowing Club and we watched many rowers in action in Cambridge." #ALLINMartin👊 #PublicSchoolProud

🍽️SCHOOL LUNCH INFO🍽️ The Martin County School District will cover the costs of meals for all students for the first two days of school (August 10th and 11th) for the schools NOT listed in the photos. After August 11, the regular price for breakfast for all students is $1.50. Lunch for grades K-5 is $1.85, and for grades 6-12 is $2.10. The District will cover the cost of meals for students who apply and qualify for reduced-price meals. All students attending the school sites participating in the Community Eligibility Provisions will receive free breakfasts and lunches with no income restrictions.
