🌟 Tuesday Teacher Feature 🌟
This week, we are excited to highlight Ms. Ireland Goens, one of Murray Middle School’s outstanding Social Studies teachers!
Ms. Goens majored in Social Studies Education and began her teaching career at the high school level in Orlando in 2022, student‑teaching AP Government and then teaching World History Honors in her first classroom role. She later joined the Murray Middle School family, where she has taught World History, U.S. History, and most recently Civics.
Throughout her three years at Murray, Ms. Goens has made a lasting impact beyond the classroom. She founded the Pink Lions, a girls’ empowerment club focused on confidence, sisterhood, and community—a vision she has had since college and one she’s been thrilled to watch grow.
Ms. Goens also serves as a leader of the House Leaders Club, collaborating with Coach Chasse and student leaders to facilitate House Meetings and pep rallies, helping build school spirit and unity across campus.
Thank you, Ms. Goens, for your dedication, leadership, and commitment to making Murray Middle School a place where students feel empowered and connected! 🦁💙

On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Murray Middle will administer the BEST Writing Assessment across all grade levels.
Please review the following expectations with your student and assist them in preparing for a successful testing experience:
Testing Day Checklist ✅
☐ Get enough sleep, stay hydrated, and eat breakfast
☐ Know your testing date, time, and location
☐ Test with integrity—do your best and show your learning
☐ Bring your MCSD laptop, fully charged and working
Please note: A modified testing bell schedule will be in effect for all students and all classes on Tuesday. Even students who are not testing will follow the adjusted bell times.
