🎉 Our 4th graders have officially wrapped up Unit 2: Characters’ Actions and Reactions! 📚✨

Over the past three weeks, students explored a variety of read-alouds to identify themes, analyze character traits, and discuss how each character’s actions contributed to the plot. Their collaboration and teamwork brought our stories to life! 💭👏

In conjunction with MCSD, we invite all students and staff to participate in Pink Wednesdays throughout the month of October to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

🌿 Third Grade Field Trip Fun! 🌊 Our third graders had an amazing day at the Environmental Studies Center! Students learned all about the unique plants and animals that call the Indian River Lagoon home. They even set sail to explore the water firsthand — catching a glimpse of shrimp, jellyfish, pipefish, bigeye fish, and more! 🐠🦐 They also discovered fascinating facts about sea turtles and the importance of protecting our beautiful local ecosystems. 💚 It was an unforgettable day of hands-on learning and outdoor adventure! ☀️

Kindergarten students wrapped up our unit on Living Things. We learned all about what plants need to grow, and successfully grew our own little plants! Today we took a walk through our PCE Food Forest and were amazed by all the amazing plants growing right outside our doors! 🌱🪴🌦️🐛🦋

This past Saturday, our teachers spent the day learning alongside our district math coaches during a Building Thinking Classrooms training! 🧠✨ Their dedication to continuous growth and passion for student-centered math instruction shine through in everything they do. We can’t wait to bring these new strategies back to our classrooms! Thank you to the Martin County School District and the Education Foundation of Martin County for making this learning opportunity possible!

🎀BREAST CANCER AWARENESS🎀

On Wednesdays, we wear pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month! 💞

Students, staff, and families—join us in showing support and spreading awareness by wearing pink each Wednesday throughout October. Together, we honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and stand with those currently facing breast cancer. Let’s fill our schools with love, hope, and a sea of pink this month. 💗

🐢🔬 Our 4th graders became sea turtle scientists as they explored turtle biology, nesting habits, and practiced real data collection using model turtles and scientific tools—just like marine biologists! 🌊

🌱 Our 1st graders practiced the scientific method by growing lima beans! They observed, recorded, and even extended their learning through a writing assignment.

STRONG ATTENDANCE = STRONG LEARNING 💪🍎

When students are in class every day, they gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed.

Attendance always matters, but October 6-10 is especially important. That's the week the state takes its enrollment snapshot to decide school funding for the year.

✅ Students in class = accurate snapshot = the right funding to support stronger schools in our A-rated District and better opportunities for our kids.

Let's work together to make sure our students are here next week—it makes a difference for everyone.

🌿🌊 Our 4th graders had an amazing trip to the Environmental Studies Center! They learned about the different types of mangroves, discovered ocean life up close, and became hands-on scientists while exploring all the wonders of our lagoon. What a fun way to connect classroom learning to the world around us! 💙🐚

👑✨ Our third graders have been diving into the world of fiction! ✨📖 This week, we read the classic fable of King Midas and used it to practice important reading skills. Students worked on identifying plot elements (rising action, climax, and resolution), uncovering the theme, and writing a strong summary of the story. To make our learning extra golden, each student was given a crown to record the plot elements from King Midas’ tale. 👑 The crowns turned out just as bright and creative as our readers’ ideas! We are so proud of the way our students are learning to dig deeper into stories and find the lessons they hold. 🌟
