🍎CHOOSING THE BEST🍎 During an Emergency Meeting held this evening, the Martin County School Board voted to add Martin County High School and Jensen Beach High School to the list of approved Controlled Open Enrollment schools for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. This means in AND out-of-county residents can apply to ANY MCSD-operated school during the application period that will open tomorrow, March 1 – March 31. For high school students, applications for signature programs are no longer required as part of the Choice process, but must be completed if your child would like to be considered for entrance into a signature program. ℹ️Students accepted into a Controlled Open Enrollment choice option must have their own mode of transportation to and from school. FREE ADMISSION to the Martin County Fair and Youth Livestock Show on Monday, Feb. 12! You read that right! Martin County School District students will have free admission to the fair on Monday, Feb. 12, between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. when they show their Student's Day Passport at the gate. Students can grab their passport book from their teacher or with the link below. Students can get stamps from any four activities and return the passport to their teacher for PBIS/Student Engagement points! We just kicked off our school’s Kids Heart Challenge! Students and staff are excited to get going on helping kids with special hearts and learning how to take care of our own. If you haven’t already, JOIN OUR TEAM at heart.org/schools or by downloading the AHA Schools app. Once you’re on the team, be sure to complete Finn’s Mission. That’s where you’ll learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR, which when given immediately can double (even triple) a person’s chance of surviving cardiac arrest. Other missions will help you raise funds for kids with special hearts and learn the warning signs of a stroke. As always, our students will have the opportunity to earn thank-you gifts for themselves and funds and equipment for our school. Join us today! 🐝STELLAR SPELLERS SHINE🐝 The Martin County School District held the 58th Annual Lillian A. Dassori Elementary Spelling Bee last night at Martin County High School. Three students from each of the elementary schools in the District participated in 10 rounds of competition, taking on challenging words such as "eclectic," "sudsy," and "anaconda." Felix A. Williams Elementary 4th-grade student Rafael Pedrosa was named Spelling Bee Champion, acing the winning word "avocado." Congratulations to all our stellar spellers and to the champion, Rafael! #ALLINMartin👊

Hello Pinewood Family, We gave out the Pawsone Attendance Pokeballs this past week and the kids were very excited! Although our number of students with Pawsome Attendance declined between Q1 (294) and Q2 (230) our number of perfect attendance students increased from 69 to 115. Being in school, on time is critical to student achievement. Let's see if we can reach 350 Pawsome Attendance in Q3.
