There are some Saturdays we come to school because our kiddos are worth it. Today, Spectrum Academy offered CLT testing while also giving seniors the opportunity to keep pushing toward graduation. This afternoon, Superintendent Michael Maine joined School Board Members Amy P. Pritchett, Jennifer Russell, and Christia Li Roberts as the StuartLife - The City of Stuart, Florida, officially recognized Spectrum Academy—formerly known as Stuart Training School—as a local historical landmark.
During the ceremony, the City presented the Martin County School District with a commemorative plaque honoring the school’s lasting impact on our community and the generations of students, families, educators, and community members connected to its history.
Today’s recognition serves as a meaningful reminder that the legacy of Spectrum Academy continues to inspire and shape our community for years to come!

They encourage them, listen to them, and support their dreams and goals. Their kindness, dedication, and heart make Spectrum Academy a better place every single day.

Our teachers may be “Livin’ on a Prayer” this May, but today we reminded them they’re "Simply the Best!" 💜
We cranked up the fun with pizza for lunch because, honestly, we all “Just Want to Have Fun”… and apparently all the carbs and a quiet lunch break too. 🍕😂

Monday, we cruised into the 1950s - poodle skirts, jukebox jams, and all! 🎶 The Eagles were living the good life with a delicious Greek lunch from Olympic Taverna. It was the bee’s knees and had us all saying, “That’s swell!” 👗😎
Today, we were vibing in the 1960s where peace, love, and grooviness ruled the day ✌️🌼 Mrs. Thurston spread all the good vibes with a far-out breakfast of quiche and pastries for her team. Can you dig it?! 💛
Tomorrow, we’re headed into the 1970s - break out the bell bottoms, dust off the disco moves, and grab your pet rock 🕺🪩 Word on the street is it’s going to be funky! Stay tuned as we keep on truckin’ through the decades celebrating our totally far out staff!

Ms. Duran is a dedicated educator who brings science to life. She builds strong relationships while maintaining high academic rigor. She believes every student can achieve greatness. Each day, she turns that belief into reality.
Her classroom is engaging, meaningful, and fun, but most importantly, it is a place where students feel seen, valued, and loved. She consistently reminds them of their potential and supports them every step of the way.
Ms. Duran has also been a driving force behind our school garden, creating I hands-on learning experiences that connect students to science in meaningful ways.
