We are so proud to recognize Mrs. Tatyana Farber as South Fork High School’s January Staff Member of the Month! Her students and colleagues shared countless glowing comments that truly highlight the impact she has on our school community.
Throughout her years teaching IB HL AA Mathematics, Mrs. Farber consistently challenges and inspires students to reach their highest potential. While her class is known as one of the most rigorous courses offered, students agree that her teaching style makes them want to work hard. She goes beyond formulas and memorization, emphasizing critical thinking, deep conceptual understanding, and problem-solving skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
Students highlighted that Mrs. Farber:
-Pushes them to think, not just memorize.
-Breaks down complex problems and ensures true understanding.
-Encourages questions, discussion, and collaboration.
-Challenges students to exceed what they believed were their limits.

Mrs. Terlizzi worked tirelessly with our Band program, dedicating countless before and after school hours to support students during the transition to a new Band Director. From band camp to preparing for football marching season, her commitment ensured our students had the guidance and opportunities they needed. We are deeply grateful for her generosity and dedication to the Spirit and Pride of South Fork High School.
👕 James Coughlin – Senior Volunteer (62+)
Mr. Coughlin volunteers his time in our Bulldog Closet, our on-campus thrift store that provides teen-friendly clothing for students. South Fork High School is proud to recognize Val Malloy for her outstanding service, leadership, and dedication to our school and community. As President of the Student Government Association, Val has “transformed the organization into one of the strongest and most cohesive student-led groups on campus,” says SGA advisor Mrs. Gorton.
Under Val’s leadership, SGA didn’t just meet expectations—it exceeded them. A standout example was this year’s Thanksgiving Basket Drive, where student donations grew from 500 baskets last year to an incredible 701 baskets, a new school record and a powerful gift to families in need. As Mrs. Gorton shared, “This was the direct result of Valerie’s planning skills, communication, delegation, and ability to inspire others to serve with purpose.”
Beyond that achievement, Val has volunteered countless hours supporting:
❤️ Homecoming events and Penny Wars (raising $1,200 for House of Hope)
🎃 Trunk or Treat benefiting the Humane Society
🧸 SGA Toy Drive in partnership with CTE Elite

Preparing students for the future means connecting them to real careers, right here on the Treasure Coast.
On Friday, Martin County School District CTE students from South Fork High School, Martin County High School, and Jensen Beach High School took part in a hands-on experience at Hog Technology, an award-winning manufacturer right here in Stuart. Through interactive panels, student-led questions, and an industry tour, students explored manufacturing careers, connected with local leaders, and saw how CTE pathways lead to high-demand jobs that strengthen our local economy.
This impactful experience was made possible by our career education teachers and CTE facilitators, who continue to create meaningful, career-connected learning opportunities for students. We also appreciate School Board Member Christia Li Roberts for joining students and staff to see this work in action!

Winter Break has arrived, and we’re wishing our students, employees, and families a restful, joy-filled break. May the days ahead bring time to slow down, recharge, and soak in the magic of the season—whether that means cozy moments, special traditions, or simply time together.
We can’t wait to welcome students and staff back in the new year as we continue a school year rooted in excellence. Classes resume January 5.

• For students interested in public health, blood donation, or hematology
• Essay required on promoting public health
• Awards up to $2,500
🩺 Jack & Dorothy Smouse Awards (Martin County Retired Educators Association)
• For students entering nursing or social service fields
• Demonstrated financial need
• Awards $1,000–$3,000 (official transcript required)
🎓 Sailfish Point Foundation Scholarship
• Full-time enrollment at a U.S. accredited college
• Based on GPA, class rank, work hours, income, activities & service
• $3,500/year for up to 4 years
💼 Jules & Gwen Knapp Family Scholarship (within Sailfish Point application)
• For students pursuing Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Management, or Entrepreneurship
• Automatic consideration when applying to Sailfish Point
⛪ The LeDuc Scholarships (All Saints’ Episcopal Church)
• Supporting Martin County seniors across many fields since 2003
• Based on character, academics, service, work experience & financial need
• Apply online or hard copy—complete all sections!
🌱 Environmental Studies Council Scholarship
• For students pursuing Environmental or Marine Science (or related fields)
• 3.0+ unweighted GPA, financial need, and a one-page essay required
• Preference to Florida colleges
🍎 Martin County Retired Educators Association Scholarship
• For seniors planning a career in teaching or education
