🎶🎤FLORIDA'S FINEST MUSICIANS🎶🎤 The Martin County School District was well-represented at the Florida Music Education Association's 2022-2023 All-State Conference. Being selected to perform at this level is a tremendous honor for our student musicians - they perform select pieces of music before a panel of judges during the Conference. In some cases, they also have to take a 50-question musical theory test. Students prepare for more than a year to perform. 💚THE WIZARDS OF SOUTH FORK💚 South Fork High School proudly hosted the Felix A. Williams Elementary and Jensen Beach Elementary School students for lunch and a show! Students got a sneak peek of the South Fork Drama Program The Wizard of Oz, performed under the guidance of Sheri Bryan. It was such a fantastic show that the kids gave it 10 stars out of 5! "Thank you to the Felix and Jensen teachers and chaperones for sharing some time at South Fork. The kids were WONDERFUL examples of the most precious resources Martin County has to offer! Congratulations to our National Merit Finalists, Cary E. Bryan, Ty J. Martino, and Hailey N. Resetar. The selection of some 7,250 Merit Scholarship winners from the group of more than 15,000 Finalists is now in progress. Scholarship winners will be announced starting in April.

Guests were treated to special performances by the Warfield Elementary School chorus and IMS band and heard an inspiring speech from recent South Fork High School graduate Jose Francisco! Mrs. Schepman, Mr. Crum and a crew of their students at the Golf Course Superintendent Association of America convention in Orlando. The kids represented South Fork exceptionally well - acquiring information into all types of possible education/career paths into the industry. The convention was a literal Who's Who of SFHS Alumni - so inspiring to see the success stories playing out in the industry!! First-class program with excellent backing from the district CTE staff (Thanks Lana and Jessica!) and unbelievable hands-on instructors who never short-change their kids!!! 📚CELEBRATING OUR HISTORY📚 As our celebration of #BlackHistoryMonth continues, we spotlight two brothers who were educational pioneers in Martin County, Charles E. and Robert G. Murray. Charles Murray founded the Stuart Training School in 1926 - this was the county's first high school for Black students. He remained principal until 1939 when his brother, Robert, took over. Stuart Training School eventually became Spectrum Academy and Murray Middle School was named after the brothers. #ALLINMartin👊
