"Lucas started high school in 2021 after moving from New Jersey in July," proud mom Sue Ellen shared. "Moving from another state and starting over was difficult but he adjusted within a few months making lasting friendships and enjoying classes with supportive teachers. Lucas will be attending IRSC - Indian River State College in the fall of 2025 committing to the Promise Program. He would like to pursue a career in Dentistry. We are looking forward to seeing what the future holds for him."

"We are incredibly proud of Colin as he prepares to graduate," proud mom Amanda shared. "Throughout high school, he has achieved so much, from earning his Cambridge International Education AICE diploma to being a Pathfinder nominee, a recognition of his hard work and dedication. Colin’s involvement in the MCHS Chorus for four years and OPUS Choir for three years also speaks to his commitment to everything he sets his mind to. As he moves forward with plans to study electrical engineering, we are confident that he will continue to excel and make a difference. A big thank you to his teachers at Palm City Elementary School, Hidden Oaks Middle School, and MCHS for supporting him along the way. The future is bright, Colin—we can’t wait to see what’s next!"

This evening, we're spotlighting Jensen Beach High School senior Matthew Greenlee!
"Matthew started his academic career as a rocket at J.D. Parker Elementary School," proud mom Andrea shared. "His favorite teachers there were-Mrs. Flood, Mrs. deCuba, Miss Zainc, Mr. Tolliver, Ms. Ferreira and Mrs. Neff. He then moved on to Stuart Middle School where he earned the American Legion Award in 8th grade and with the help of Ms. Silvia, discovered his love of art. After Stuart Middle, Matt went onto Jensen Beach High School. Here he has enjoyed learning from Mr. G, Ms. Hance, Mrs. Duchene and Mrs. Pigott. Matthew just recently completed a run as The Phantom in Jensen Beach High School's Spring Musical production. He previously was cast in the roles of Von Hussler in Mary Poppins, Uncle Fester in Addams Family, The Musical and Mercutio in Romeo & Juliet. Matt says that joining Drama was the best decision he made during his high school career... Go Matty G!!!!!"
Matt plans to attend SCAD - The University for Creative Careers to become a comic book writer and illustrator.

Jianna plans to pursue her nursing degree at IRSC - Indian River State College.

Students at Citrus Grove Elementary School were buzzing with excitement as they showed off their book vending machine to WPTV’s Tania Rogers! Instead of snacks, this special machine dispenses knowledge—one book at a time!
Through the For the Love of Reading program, students earn tokens to select books, fostering a love for reading in a fun and engaging way. Thanks to the Education Foundation of Martin County, these book vending machines are available in all Martin County School District schools!

🍎COLLABORATIVE LEADERSHIP IN ACTION🍎
Superintendent Michael Maine and the Martin County School Board–Chair Amy Pritchett (District 4), Vice Chair Marsha Powers (District 2), Christia Li Roberts (District 1), Jennifer Russell (District 3), and Dr. Brian Moriarty (District 5) are ending the week by learning and igniting together, participating in Master Board Training with the Florida School Boards Association.
The curriculum prioritizes board members’ and the superintendent in their development of team cohesion, deeper understanding of roles and responsibilities and the art of effective governance in support of student success.
One of the team-building strategies required them to build the tallest bean stalk possible using limited, pre-determined supplies. Through our governance team’s collaboration, communication and commitment to teamwork, they built the highest bean stalk in FSBA history at 14 feet 10 inches! 👏
