As part of the Martin County School District’s commitment to providing exemplary service to our students and their families, technical support for students’ District-issued devices has been transitioned from the District Office to each school campus.
Families in need of hardware or software support for District-issued devices should contact their child’s school for assistance. Educational Technology staff assigned to each campus will perform necessary repairs or issue replacements of devices/chargers.

🍎SUPPORTING OUR SCHOOLS🍎
The Education Foundation of Martin County visited Martin County High School today to present a $10,000 grant that will be used to purchase supplies and materials for the school's new Forensic Science courses.

🐝CELEBRATING STELLAR SPELLERS🐝
Ten outstanding spellers from each of the District's five middle schools participated in ten rounds of competition during yesterday's Middle School Spelling Bee. Students tackled the spelling of words such as "invertebrate," "bravado," cerebellum,” “preposterous,” and “demonstrable." The winning word was "subconscious."

🍎LEARNING IN ACTION🍎
Superintendent John D. Millay and members of the District's leadership team participated in a learning walk at Port Salerno Elementary School this morning. Learning walks allow District staff to observe teaching and learning, celebrating best practices and identifying opportunities to offer additional support.
"I love seeing the great energy of our teaching staff and the learning that is going on in our schools," Superintendent John D. Millay shared. "I am extremely proud of the progress our students are making."

⚖️POISE & PROFESSIONALISM⚖️
Students Kyle Ramos (South Fork High School), Shea Powers (Jensen Beach High School), Jordan LoSardo (Martin County High School) and Cole Foster (South Fork High School) served as Florida YMCA Youth In Government (YiG) panelists during the annual Florida Supervisors of Elections' Winter Conference, held recently at the Hutchinson Shores Resort & Spa.
To the delight of attendees, the students spoke eloquently about their experiences serving as members of the YMCA of the Treasure Coast's YiG delegation, which is the largest in the state. Jensen Beach High School's Color Guard presented our nation's colors during the conference.

⚕️LIFESAVING TRAINING⚕️
Freshmen and juniors throughout the Martin County School District are receiving first aid and CPR training in accordance with Chapter 1003.453(3), Florida Statutes, which was updated earlier this year.

🎼SOUNDS OF THE SEASON🎼
Jensen Beach High School's renowned Falcon Pride Band presented its Holiday Charity Concert on Thursday, December 2. Admission to the concert was either a donation for the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation program or canned goods/non-perishable items for House of Hope.
This year, JBHS collected $1,202 for the Toys for Tots program and 524pounds of food for House of Hope! That amount of food equals 437 meals for needy residents in our local community.
The Holiday Charity Concert began in 2008. Since that time, Jensen Beach High School has collected $13,325 for the Toys for Tots program and 9,260 pounds of food for the House of Hope.

Students at Warfield Elementary School practiced their ingenuity and engineering skills this week by experimenting with different building materials. They enjoyed using uncooked spaghetti, wood blocks and other manipulatives to build structures!

🎓ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT 🎓
Carla Holbrook, a 1994 graduate of South Fork High School, returned to campus to perform for students during lunch sessions yesterday.
A member of SGA, band, chorus, and drama while a student at SFHS, Carla has gone on to have great professional success as a musical artist and performer.
She has toured the world with many notable music groups, notably serving as the lead vocalist for Grammy-winning artist Salvador Santana (son of Carlos Santana) in the Salvador Santana Band. They toured as the supporting act for Grammy-winning artist Carlos Santana. During the European tour, Carla joined as Carlos Santana's female guest vocalist and continued to share the stage with Santana on many other occasions in California.
In between tours, Carla recorded with Salvador Santana and Carlos Santana at Fantasy Studios
with famed engineer Stephen Hart (Santana, Green Day, Credence Clearwater Revival, Bill Evans, Journey, Aerosmith. BB King, U2, En Vogue). Carla worked for other studios in the Bay Area as a session vocalist and collaborated with many musicians as well. Since returning to Stuart, Carla has played different venues around Florida, singing with musicians such as
Bob Gaffney (Firefall). She has also been involved with several professional theater productions including Little Shop of Horrors (Crystal), Dolly Parton's role in 9 to 5: The Musical (Doralee),
Cabaret (sailor), and Gypsy (Louise).
The students and staff loved listening to Carla’s performance yesterday.

🌲❤️HOLIDAY MIRACLE❤️🌲
Jensen Beach High School Assistant Principal Jaime Thompson’s heart dropped when she glanced down at her finger recently and noticed the diamond from her engagement ring was missing.
“My heart dropped," she said. "This is something you think you’re going to leave your children one day. It’s going to be a part of my family forever. I just froze and sat there, thinking 'oh no, maybe if I don’t move; it’s right here'."
Just as she began to lose hope, custodian Paul Orlik came through with a huge holiday miracle.
