🎨📚 Literacy Meets Art! 📚🎨 Students in Mr. Henderson’s art class connected reading and creativity after listening to The Rainbow Fish. Inspired by the story, students used multimedia materials to create their own rainbow fish while exploring contrast and color in their artwork. Through small group conversations and turn and talks, students are sharing ideas, supporting their thinking with evidence, and learning from one another. 🎭✨ Creativity in Action! ✨🎭 Our Bessey Creek Odyssey of the Mind team recently competed, showcasing incredible creativity, teamwork, and problem solving. What makes this experience so special is that the entire process is student led, with students developing their own ideas, solutions, and presentations. From innovative thinking to collaborative problem solving, our Gators truly rose to the challenge and represented Bessey Creek with pride. 🎶✨ Celebrating Black History Month ✨🎶 Bessey Creek was proud to participate in the Martin County School District Black History Month Celebration at Stuart Middle School! Schools from across the district came together to showcase the incredible talents of our students. A special thank you to Ms. Arencibia for leading our amazing steel drum band, whose performance filled the room with energy and pride. We were also proud to have Mr. Henderson display our students’ beautiful African tribal masks, highlighting creativity, culture, and history through art. 📏✨ Real-World Learning in First Grade! ✨📏 Our first graders are becoming real-life mathematicians! Students practiced measuring classroom objects using nonstandard units and compared which items were longer or shorter. From books to desks and supplies, students discovered how math connects to the world around them. 🏅🐊 Bessey Creek Gators Shine at Special Olympics! After two months of training with Coach Cratty, our student athletes proudly competed in their culminating Special Olympics Track and Field event, showcasing their skills in events like the softball throw and long jump. Our Gators cheered each other on, encouraged their teammates, and showed incredible athletic spirit from the opening to closing ceremonies! A huge thank you to Coach Cratty, our ESE teachers and staff, and our supportive families who came out to cheer on our athletes. 🎓🐊 5th Grade Visit from Hidden Oaks Middle! 🦈 Our 5th graders enjoyed a special visit from Principal Forte and rising 6th grade counselor Ms. Romano from Hidden Oaks Middle School! Students learned about the Core 4 classes, explored the wide range of electives, clubs, and school-sponsored sports, and had the chance to ask great questions about middle school life.
