This happens when the moon passes directly between Earth and the sun, momentarily casting a shadow and blocking the sun's light.
Martin County will not experience a "totality" like other parts of the country and can expect to see approximately 51% coverage of the sun.

Please note that on Thursday, April 4th our 4th & 5th grade students will take the FAST Writing Assessment. Students will transition into assessment mode shortly after the conclusion of Morning Announcements so please make sure students arrive to school on time.
