🌽 Things got a little CORN-tentious in class! 😂 Our gifted 5th grade class took on ✨The Great Corn Debate✨ carefully reading informational texts and using text evidence to build and defend their arguments about Three Sisters Planting, Two-Crop Rotation, and Four-Crop Rotation. 📚🌱 Students weren’t just picking a side, they were reading closely, evaluating evidence, thinking critically, and thoughtfully communicating their ideas. We love watching our Sailfish tackle reading and communication skills with confidence, curiosity, and some friendly debate! 💙💚 #MakingWaves #FAWEProud

🌊⛵ HOW TO SAIL SUNDAY! 💙💚 This week, we’re focusing on I — INCREDIBLY RESPONSIBLE! At school, we encourage our Sailfish to take ownership of their choices, stay organized, follow through, and do their part. At home, give your child opportunities to practice responsibility, make choices, and show that they can be counted on. ⚓️ Little choices today can lead to big success tomorrow! 💙💚

Welcome to the real world, kiddos! 🏦💰

Our 5th graders are taking on a big challenge this month—balancing a family budget! They're earning salaries, paying bills, buying groceries, and balancing their checkbooks.

The big question: Will they have money left at the end of the month for fun activities and a few luxuries? 😅

It's hands-on learning at its best as our students discover the importance of financial literacy and smart money management!

📣 Reminder for Odyssey of the Mind Students!

Students in grades 3-5 who returned a permission slip are invited to attend our Odyssey of the Mind Informational Meeting today, Friday, September 4, from 2:15-3:00 PM in the FAWE Media Center.

✅ This meeting is for students only.

🚗 Parents may pick up their student in front of the school at 3:00 PM.

We can't wait to share more about this exciting opportunity for creative thinkers, problem solvers, and future innovators!

Join us for a fun-filled evening at Chuck E. Cheese and help support our Related Arts classes!

Bring the whole family for great food, games, and laughter while giving back to our school. A portion of the proceeds will help provide resources and enrichment opportunities for our students in art, music, PE, media, and science.

✨ Multiplication & Division Rockstars!✨ Our 3rd graders are diving into multiplication and division, and they’re learning that becoming a math whiz is a journey! 🧠✏️ Students start with hands-on materials to build understanding, move to pencil-and-paper strategies to show their thinking, and eventually work toward mental math and memorization to build fluency and confidence. From concrete models to “I know it in my head!” moments, our Sailfish are building their math skills one strategy at a time! 🐟💙💚 #FAWEProud

📚💙 Reading Buddies are back in action! 💙📚 Our 4th and 1st grade reading buddies from Ms. Root and Mrs. Kujawa's classes teamed up to tackle their Back-to-School Reading Challenge goals, and we LOVED seeing them cheer each other on along the way! 🐟📖 From sharing favorite books to encouraging one another to keep reading, these Sailfish are proving that reading is even better when we do it together! 💙 Way to go, readers! We ask that our students be... 💚 S - Safe ⚓ A - Always Respectful 🌟 I - Incredibly Responsible 🌊 L - Learn & Lead by Example When families use the same language at home that students hear at school, it creates stronger partnerships and gives our kids clear, consistent reminders about what it means to be a Sailfish.
