Fifth grade students and staff enjoyed getting into costume and enjoying some tasty treats for their celebration of learning at the conclusion of their ELA unit learning about cultivating natural resources, specifically the importance of corn crops. Some interesting facts of ways in which corn is useful to both humans and animals-Toothpaste, ethanol for vehicles, grain for cattle. Did you know that corn can grow to be 10ft tall, it is the most popular vegetable in the US that we grow, and the US is considered to have the best corn crops worldwide!

Student notes of gratitude to first responders and military personnel for their service🇺🇸

Great example of how our students SAIL at FAWE by being bucket fillers of kind words to help others during the day. Ms. Langlois and her students are excited to fill up their buckets and those around them in the classroom and at home!

🦅WE WILL NEVER FORGET🦅
Students in Ms. Urbay's third-grade class at Felix A. Williams Elementary School wrote notes of gratitude to first responders and servicemembers in remembrance of the 9/11 tragedy this week.
"September 11 was a turning point for me personally, as my dad left almost immediately after to serve with the military for many years to follow," Ms. Urbay shared. "I'm thankful to honor his post 9/11 service, share with the kids each year and reflect on others who lost their lives or stepped up to assist those in need."

FAWE Class Community Building in Action! Mrs. Berkely's 4th grade class decided that they want to ALL have breakfast on Friday, together, at one table in the cafeteria. Then they decided to all wear green or blue and figured out they should be dropped off a little early to have “FAMILY breakfast” at school. They decided to call it The Breakfast Club! 😂 They even coordinated with Mrs. Snyder to allow them to have a table together. Later on in the day, they created a class cheer and are really showing more than their school spirit, they are creating a community within our classroom. Mrs. Berkely and her students all agree breakfast together starts the day off in such a happy mood! #FAWEPROUD - Way to SAIL!

Thank you Mrs. Hall’s class for including Mrs. Riley in their letter writing activity for things they like about others. The letter is permanently hanging on the wall in her office❤️

Students in Ms. Soviero and Mrs. Czerwinski’s classes were working together to collaborate and problem solve how to save Sammy the worm who’s boat capsized and life preserver was trapped underneath. They could only use the tools given to save Sammy. The decision making process was not an easy task!

Science in Action! Mrs. Radcliff’s fourth and fifth students observed firsthand the atala butterfly life cycle in action. Check out these cool chrysalis pictures! 😍

This past week we had a “guest” student walking down the hallway to get to the library. Mrs. Baldwin, the Book Wizard, was ready to help him pick out some great books to read! Thank you Mrs. Urbay for capturing his trek on camera.🐢📚
