🍀The 4-H HSE Club has commenced. Our Eagles are learning through fun and hands-on activities that focus on the four Hs: Head, Heart, Hands, and Health. 🐝Kindergarteners had a blast sifting through cheese puff pollen to find the nectar starburst, and enjoyed singing and crafting. 🧘First and second graders practiced yoga and even completed the 4-H pledge in yoga poses. 🌻Third graders explored Flora and Fauna, made Flora bracelets, and did a germ activity to learn about health.

HSE SAC was thankful for the partnership with ❤️🐾 SFHS Leaders regarding our work in increasing rigor on our campus through seeking becoming an International Baccalaureate- primary years elementary school. Mrs Desreuisseau & Mr. Shewmaker introduced the impact and power behind earning an IB diploma and experiencing learning through an IB lens. At HSE, we recognize that our students are in a direct path to attend SFHS and that our students deserve access to the highest quality instruction to prepare them for options as they earn their high school diploma and beyond.

Grade 1 Mrs. Aylsworth’s class learned about Living Things as well as parents and their offsprings (SC1L14.1-3; 16.1; 17.1). In these units students used their five senses to make observations about plants that students are caring for. Students also learned about the major parts of plants, what they need to survive, and how to care for living things. This is tied into our ELA Benchmark and social studies standards on how to be good citizens as we develop life skills that require responsibility in caring for a living plant.
