💙✨ Afterschool Professional Appreciation Week ✨💙

We recently celebrated Afterschool Professional Appreciation Week, and we want to take a moment to recognize how much we appreciate our incredible Extended Day team!

Our Extended Day staff creates a safe, welcoming, and caring environment for our students each day beyond the school day. They build strong relationships, support our students, and bring so much heart to everything they do.

We are so grateful for the dedication, patience, and positivity they show every single day. Thank you for all that you do for our JBE family! 💙💛

We are so proud to announce Mrs. Amanda McConnell as Jensen Beach Elementary’s Teacher of the Year! 💙💛

Mrs. McConnell is the kind of teacher who leaves a lasting impact on everyone around her. As a 5th grade teacher, she pours her heart into her students each and every day, creating a classroom where they are challenged, supported, and truly cared for.

Her impact reaches far beyond the classroom. She serves as our Kiwanis Kids Club sponsor, Spelling Bee coach, and Math Olympics coach—always finding ways to give more of her time and energy to help students grow and succeed.

Mrs. McConnell is passionate, dedicated, and deeply committed to her students and our school community. She goes above and beyond in everything she does, and this recognition is so incredibly well deserved.

April is National Autism Awareness Month 💙 We celebrated in the media center with interactive learning centers that gave students a hands-on understanding of experiences some individuals with autism may have. Students explored a sensory lab, brain lab, communication lab, and fidget lab—each designed to build empathy, awareness, and understanding. It was a meaningful week of learning, growth, and perspective. So proud of our students for being open-minded and engaged!

We had such a fun time at the Sunshine State Young Readers party sponsored by the JBE PTA! Students enjoyed a pizza party along with dancing and celebrating together. Thank you to everyone who helped make this such a special and memorable day!

⛵️CARDBOARD BOAT RACES⛵️ The 8th Annual Cardboard Boat Races took over the Martin County High School pool today—and yes, there were boats that floated… and boats that absolutely did not. 😂🌊 This year was extra fun with middle school joining for the first time! 🏆 Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School swept the speed awards in middle school and also took home Most Spirited Team! 🏆 Crystal Lake Elementary School dominated the elementary speed awards, while Bessey Creek Elementary School brought the spirit and earned Most Spirited Team! Registration for the summer Extended Day programs at the Martin County School District opens Monday, April 27! ☀️🎉

Extended Day summer programs are open to all students who will be enrolled in grades K-5 at a District-operated school NEXT year. Programs will be held Monday - Friday beginning June 1 and running through July 24. Registration will be held online through FOCUS.

Congratulations to two of our talented JBE Vikings who were recognized at a ceremony for the Martin County Tax Collector’s Kids Tag Art contest! 🎨

Demarius Mack received the Principal’s Award, and Gabriel Borges was honored with the Behind the Badge Award. We are so proud of their creativity and the amazing designs they created.

Yesterday we celebrated Administrative Professionals Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible impact our front office team has on our school each and every day. 💙💛

Wendy Marsh, Beth Leahy, Debbie Robertson, and Tammy Benavidez — thank you for all that you do. You are the heart of our school. You are often the first smile families see and the steady support that keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

April is the Month of the Military Child and we are proud to recognize and celebrate some of our military children: Teagan (3rd) and Palmer (KG).

Their Mom Tori shares, "Being part of an active-duty Coast Guard family has so many benefits and challenges. Most importantly, it has shaped how deeply we value time together. Frequent moves, changing schedules or routines, and never truly knowing what comes next have taught us to stay flexible, support one another, and make the most of every moment—especially through little adventures whenever we can. We are incredibly proud of "Dada’s" sacrifice and service to his country and the example he sets every day. Our time at JBE has been especially meaningful, and we’re grateful for the strong friendships and supportive community we’ve built here, it truly feels like family."
