Jensen Beach High School is proud to showcase our Career Technical Education programs. We are pleased to welcome Mrs. Stephanie Davis-Chang as the Marketing Essentials instructor.
The Marketing Essentials CTE program is designed to empower students with the essential skills needed to thrive in the dynamic world of Marketing or to embark on their entrepreneurial journey. This engaging and rigorous class offers a comprehensive toolkit for mastering key Marketing competencies, including:
- Marketing Fundamentals: Gain insights into consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive analysis.
- Digital Marketing: Develop expertise in SEO, social media strategies, content marketing, and data analytics.
- Branding: Learn how to create and manage a compelling brand identity and equity.
- Consumer Psychology: Discover the factors that influence consumer choices.
- Entrepreneurship: Acquire skills in innovation, business planning, and effective risk management.
- Communication: Enhance your written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ethics and Sustainability: Understand ethical marketing practices and sustainable business strategies.
- Technology: Get acquainted with marketing automation tools and the latest technological advancements.
Students will also have the chance to earn an industry-recognized certification in Entrepreneurship and Small Business, validating their grasp of essential business principles necessary for launching and sustaining a successful enterprise.
Mrs. Davis-Chang says that prior to accepting a position at JBHS, "I had previously launched a successful marketing program at Stuart Middle School, a milestone I take great pride in. However, I aspired to expand my impact and grow the program further. I recognized that teaching at the high school level would allow me to significantly enhance students' lives, providing them with practical skills they could apply immediately, rather than merely imparting knowledge for future use.
"As a CTE teacher, I am fortunate to have strong support from the CTE department and collaborate with colleagues who share my passion for equipping students for the real world. Our mission is to ensure that what students learn in the classroom becomes a vital part of their lives after graduation. Many of them are ready to step directly into trades or further education, armed with the skills they need to thrive even before they receive their diplomas."
When asked about her favorite part of her job, Mrs. Davis-Chang said, "It's incredibly rewarding to witness the moment when students realize, 'This makes sense!' as they grasp the reasons behind specific marketing strategies and understand how they can also sway people's choices through their marketing knowledge. Additionally, I love seeing their creativity and critical thinking flourish, especially when they are tasked with developing and presenting innovative marketing concepts. Finally, it's inspiring to observe their growth in other academic areas while they engage in this program.
"Every day I spend at school is honestly the best part of my job. I’m super passionate about what I do and the students I get to teach. It’s such a joy to celebrate the proud moments with them, like when I can showcase their amazing work or let them take the lead in class because they’re so confident in what they’ve learned. I invite anyone on campus to drop by and check out my amazing students and be a part of the lesson if they would like! Plus, it’s a real treat to see some of my former students from SMS, who are now Freshmen to Juniors at JBHS. A few of them are back in my class this year, and it’s been fantastic catching up with them in the hallways and hearing about their experiences."
