NHS Induction Ceremony Meeting only: Auditorium. If you receive free or reduced meals and have not filled out a 24-25 school year application, please pick one up in the cafeteria. Students who receive free and reduced meals from the previous school year will end on Tuesday, September 24. The next meeting for the JBHS PTSA student club is tomorrow, Wed. Sept. 18th at 7:45 AM in Ms. Chandler’s room- all students are welcome to attend and join this school-service club. We will be voting on officers. Tomorrow, Wednesday is Picture Retake Day for any students who need Yearbook photos taken. This does NOT include Seniors who need to schedule theirs through Cady Studios at https://store.cady.com/ 10-12th graders interested in the Science National Honor Society don't forget your applications and officer intent-to-run forms are due no later than 3:15 this Friday to Mrs. Allen, no exceptions. Sports News Anyone interested in trying out for the Basketball Cheer Team must have a complete Athletic Physical packet on file and complete the Teacher Recommendation form. Anyone interested in coming out for the girls’ or boys’ wrestling teams this winter needs to attend a general information meeting on Wednesday morning 10/9 @ 8:10 AM in the gym. The Beach Announcements Friday, September 6, 2024 The JBHS PTSA is hosting an ACT Practice Test Fundraiser on Saturday, Sept 21 at JBHS. The practice test will be proctored, students will get a baseline score and will be able to review their results with Class 101. Students should get permission during their English class to visit the auditorium to get these photos taken. If you are a FLVS or IRSC student, you should seek to visit 4th and 5th period. Sports News The Boys’ Golf Team beat SFHS yesterday. Way to go, Falcons! Good luck to our volleyball team who hosts the East Coast Challenge tournament that begins today! Our Football team plays Sebastian River HS tonight at 7:00 in the Birdcage! Come on out to cheer them on! Anyone paying for their ticket at the gate will pay $10. Students, you can get less expensive tickets online but must have your ID to enter the gate. Let’s go, Falcon Athletes!

Jensen Beach High School is proud to introduce our Guidance Department. Mrs. Lee Searfoss attended Minnesota State University, earning a BS in Law Enforcement & Corrections, and Indiana University for her MSW. She currently attends FAU to earn her Ed.S degree. Mrs. Searfoss says she became a guidance counselor because, "I have always worked with teenagers, as a Juvenile Probation Officer for 16 years, an ESE teacher for ten years, and now a counselor. I am drawn to young people because they hold the promise that tomorrow can be better than today. I hope to positively influence them to make good choices, independent of peers, and let them know someone is rooting for them." Her favorite part of her job is, "Getting to know my students as individuals and knowing I play a small part in shaping their future."

Jensen, Martin and Southfork High Schools came together yesterday, wearing red, white and blue, to honor and remember the thousands of lives lost and those affected by the tragedy of September 11, 2001. We will never forget.❤️💙❤️💙

The Beach Announcements Thursday, September 12, 2024 The IRSC Dual Enrollment Coach will now be on our campus every THURSDAY to assist students in the Guidance Office. Jensen Beach High School Guidance will host a Freshman/ Sophomore night on Monday, September 16th from 6 pm-7 pm in the Auditorium. This is an informational night for parents, but students are welcome to attend. Any 10th-12th graders interested in joining the new Science National Honor Society come to Mrs. Allen’s room 212 right after school today at 3:15 for more information. You must have a 3.5 unweighted GPA and currently be enrolled in a science course to join. There will be a practice ACT test here at JBHS on Saturday, September 21st at 8:30 AM. Any high school student is welcome to attend. You must bring #2 pencils, a calculator, and snack if you choose. Please arrive by 8:15 AM. MCSD will host a College/Military Fair at JBHS on Thursday, September 26th from 5:00-7:00 PM. All MCSD families are welcome to attend. Bus transportation is available from Port Salerno Elementary, Indiantown Middle School, and Martin County High School. RSVP your seats on the bus today at https://bit.ly/2024MCSDCollegeFair There will also be breakout sessions held for seniors and their parents addressing FAFSA, scholarships, and Xello (formerly known as Common App). The PSAT is being given at JBHS on Thursday, October 10th. All sophomores are scheduled to test and DO NOT need to register. Juniors are permitted to sign up with Mrs. Jennings in Guidance, if they wish. The cost of the test for Juniors is $18, unless you qualify for free/reduced lunch. The last day to register is Thursday, October 3rd. Earn points for your Class to win the Falcon Class Cup! Wear your class color every Friday. Freshmen wear WHITE; Sophomores wear GREY; Juniors wear TEAL; and Seniors wear BLACK. Sports News Congratulations to the JV football team for beating South Fork 40-0 last night at home. Congrats to the Varsity football team for being #1 in the TCPALM football rankings and #10 State ranking in class 4A for the first time in school history. Friday Night's game is Military Night, and we are asking all former and current military to attend stand and be acknowledged for your service to our country. Coach Caffey is asking everyone to wear teal for the game in the Birdcage on Friday. Coach Caffey will also have a surprise announcement on Friday morning for all students. Today the boys’ and girls’ bowling teams take on Somerset College Prep at Lucie Lanes at 3:30. The Swim and Dive Team has a meet at Sailfish Splash at 4:00. The girls’ golf team plays JCHS and PSLHS at JB Country Club at 3:30. Come cheer them on! Tomorrow the Falcon Volleyball team will host the East Coast Challenge Tournament. There will be 8 teams from as close as Martin County HS and as far away as Alabama and Tallahassee. Let’s go Falcons!

Jensen Beach High School is proud to introduce our Guidance Department. Mrs. Lisa Thiesen has worked at JBHS since the school opened 20 years ago! Mrs. Thiesen attended Mississippi State University. She became a Guidance Counselor because, "Working as a guidance counselor allowed me to use my training and skills as a counselor in a school setting and also provided the opportunity to coach various sports." She says, "My favorite part of the job is interacting with the students face to face and helping them navigate through the teenage years while finding a purpose and pathway to the future."

If you can't make it today, come on Thursday or Friday morning! Sports News Tonight, the JV Football team plays Southfork High School at home at 6:00 PM. Come out to cheer them on! The boys’ and girls’ bowling teams scored another win yesterday against PSL, defeating the Jaguars 2 games to 0. The Lady Falcons' team was led by Senior Hannah Whetzel's high series of 342 along with season-high games by Juniors Chris Bell, 133, and Lizzie Fitzwater, 148. They remain undefeated this season. The boys' team of Seniors Ivan Stubsten, Tommy Sullivan, and Henry Dieffenbach along with Junior Aiden Wintercorn, and Sophomore Russell Law rolled a season-high, team series of 1020 pins. This total included Russell's season-high 211. The boys' team is now 4-1 on the season. Both teams travel to face Somerset College Prep tomorrow at Lucie Lanes in Port St Lucie.

Jensen Beach High School is proud to introduce our Guidance Department. Ms. Diana Gutierrez attended the University of California, Irvine, for her undergraduate work and Concordia University, Irvine, for graduate school. Ms. Gutierrez says, "I was a first-generation college student in my family. I did not have the supports or resources growing up; so once I knew what a College Advisor did, I was very interested in becoming one. I've always loved helping others and finding a way to research and apply for free tuition, waivers, scholarships, grants, etc." Her favorite part of her job is "Getting to know the students and having them share with me their goals and accomplishments. I also love making a positive impact in students' lives as they're preparing for post-secondary plans."

Jensen Beach High School is proud to introduce our Guidance Department. Ms. Tiffany Jones attended the University of Florida to earn her B.A./M.Ed./Ed.S. degrees. Ms. Jones says, "I was originally planning to be a youth mental health counselor, and many of my clients had to be seen at school. I really loved the school environment, so I added school counseling & guidance degree requirements into my mental health program and fulfilled the requirements for both fields." She says her favorite part of her job as a Guidance Counselor is, "building relationships with students and families, getting to know who they are and what the students' interests and goals are. I believe that students need to have a positive connection with someone in the school that helps to guide them onto their next big adventure post-high school, as well as someone who can also walk along with them and provide support as needed."
