The Digital SAT will be administered to all JBHS JUNIORS on Wednesday, March 6th. This test will be administered free of charge and no registration is necessary. All students must arrive at school no later than 8:15 to be eligible to participate in testing. Students must arrive on time to be allowed into testing. IMPORTANT: ALL students should arrive at school with their school-issued computers fully charged that day. On Wednesday, February 28th there will be a mandatory assembly for all juniors in the cafeteria during 2nd period to provide important testing information. Seniors, IRSC is here every Tuesday to assist you in completing the IRSC Promise Pledge and Application from 7:30 to 3:00 in Guidance. The pledge has no fees and can usually be completed in 5 minutes or less. The application does take a bit more time and requires a $20 application fee. Please note that even those students who earn an AA degree prior to graduation, are eligible for the IRSC Promise Program to earn an AS or an AAS degree.

Congratulations to Rachel Pennega, a South Fork High School junior, who was recognized as the Martin County School District's 2024 Sunshine State Scholar during last night's School Board meeting!
Jensen Beach High School junior Kara LaFleur has been selected as this year's alternate.
The Sunshine State Scholars program recognizes Florida's top-performing 11th graders in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM). Each scholar, along with their parents, will travel to Orlando for an extraordinary program designed to bring together scholars from around the state, connect them with STEM-focused employers, and create a networking opportunity between the scholars and schools from Florida’s College and State University System.

Our athletes continue to make history and break records!
This past weekend, Jensen Beach High School Senior Carolina O'Hara became the State Runner Up in her weight class during the Florida High School Athletic Association Girls Weightlifting State Championship tournament! Carolina also earned 2nd in the Traditional event, 3rd in the Olympic event, AND broke two of her personal records. She is the first JBHS weightlifting athlete to make it to the top three at States!
At the same time, South Fork High School Junior Paisley Bergen placed 3rd in her weight class and also broke a personal record! Her teammates, Bliss Weiler and Kaley McElligot placed 7th and 9th in the Traditional event.
Martin County High School student Madison Montgomery also placed in the top 10! She won 5th in Traditional and 7th in Olympic.
Congratulations to these outstanding athletes!

Congratulations to the Jensen Beach High School boys wrestling team and their coaches for earning their 12th District Title win in a row!! 👏👏
Twelve out of the 14 wrestlers won their weight class, and all 14 wrestlers are moving on to the regional tournament weekend, hosted at JBHS! The top 4 place winners advance to the state tournament.
The JBHS girls wrestling team also made history!! Junior Brooke Van Etten became the first girls' wrestler at JBHS to qualify for the girls' state tournament! She finished 3rd in her bracket at regionals.

Congratulations to the wrestling team who won their 12th District title in a row! Congratulations to Brook Van Etten who won a state title in girls’ weightlifting and to the Flag Football team who beat Apopka 12-6. Sophomore Ashlyn Otton caught a 30-yard TD pass from Junior QB Paige Bressman, and Ashlyn ran a punt back for a TD off a pitch from Senior Dalia Yazji. Sophomore Natalie Tobiasz had an interception on defense.
The flag football team travels to South Fork for the start of their regular season today. JV plays at 6:00 and Varsity plays at 7:00.
We have two Falcon athletes up for Athlete of the Week!
Boys Tennis: Jayden Dyer, a sophomore, was unbeaten in a pair of singles matches and a pair of doubles matches.
Boys Wrestling: Gian Ortiz, a senior, claimed first place in the 120-pound weight class to help the Falcons take first overall at the District 13-1A meet. Ortiz pinned Gumaro Martinez III in 3 minutes, 35 seconds. Vote for them using the link below.

We wish our Falcon Family a nice three-day weekend. There is no school on Monday, February 19th in honor of Presidents’ Day.
Martin Youth LEADERship is an exciting educational program designed for sophomores, juniors, and seniors from local high schools to learn about the diversity and complexities of our community while developing their leadership skills. This is accomplished through participation in an eight-month, structured, experiential program that meets one day each month. Students will need transportation to MCHS between 7-8 am (depending on the session) and picked up at that same location at the end of the session (approx. 1:30-2:00 pm). FREE ADMISSION to the Martin County Fair and Youth Livestock Show on Monday, Feb. 12!
You read that right!
Martin County School District students will have free admission to the fair on Monday, Feb. 12, between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. when they show their Student's Day Passport at the gate.
Students can grab their passport book from their teacher or with the link below. Students can get stamps from any four activities and return the passport to their teacher for PBIS/Student Engagement points!
Remember, Monday, Feb. 12 is a teacher workday, so students have the day off. What better way to spend the day than at the fair, for free!

⚖️CELEBRATING CONSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARS⚖️
In partnership with the YMCA of The Treasure Coast and Florida YMCA Youth In Government, student teams from Jensen Beach High School, Martin County High School and South Fork High School competed in the 2024 Constitutional Debate Competition on Friday, February 2.
Each team debated the U.S. Supreme Court case “Mahoney Area School District vs B.L.” before presiding 19th Judicial Circuit Court judges - the Honorable Kathleen Roberts and the Honorable Jennifer Alcorta Waters.
During the debate, students made opening and closing arguments and answered questions from the judges.
The two teams advancing in the competition are Nira Goyal (Senior) & Nina Goyal (Freshman) from MCHS and Savannah Kautz (Junior) & Ameera Mehan (Junior) from SFHS.
Congratulations to all teams for their outstanding efforts!

NHS News: In honor of the Super Bowl, this week we are holding a “soup”er bowl drive to benefit House of Hope! Please bring in cans of soup and we will have boxes out at lunch labeled with the 2 NFL teams - put your soup cans in the box of the team you want to win. All soup will be donated at the end of the week! Please help make this a success – all students are welcome to participate!
Our monthly meeting is this Wednesday, February 7th right after school; our activity will be making candy grams for our teachers and the students at Gertrude Walden; please bring candy donations if you are able (hours provided)!
