The Beach Announcements: Wednesday, October 26, 2022. The Inaugural Falcon Band on the Run 5K is 11.5.22. This officially timed race will start and finish at the football stadium beginning at 7:00am. Each participant will receive a Finishers Medal. We have a limited quantity of race shirts available. Band students receive referral credit towards their spring trip to Washington D.C. for each registration. JBHS will be hosting a community Trunk or Treat tomorrow, Thursday, October 27, 5:30-7:30. We have over 20 trunks and have invited local schools. Please join us and bring your friends and families. Attention Seniors: We are searching for 18 of our brightest and most accomplished seniors to represent JBHS in the prestigious Palm Beach Post Pathfinder Scholarship Competition. If interested in representing JBHS in one of the 18 categories below, please go to the guidance office for more information on how to complete the application. Completed applications should be returned to the guidance office by November 14th. The 18 categories are: Academic Excellence (best in everything), Art, Business, Career and Technical Education, Communications, Community Involvement, Computer Engineering and Technology, Forensics/Speech, History/Political Science, Literature, Mathematics, Music/instrumental, Music/Vocal, Reach for Excellence(IEP), Science, Sports, Theater Arts, World Language (except English and ASL) Attention Juniors: The American Legion Post 126 will be selecting someone to attend Boys’ State in Tallahassee (June 18-24). They will select one student and pay the expenses for this week-long experience. Boys’ State is designed to mirror the structure and operation of Florida’s state government, while providing hands-on training in practical citizenship, leadership, and character development. If you enjoy serving as a leader, interacting with other leaders across the state, and learning more about how the US Government and Florida Government function, please stop by the guidance office to sign up for this program. The deadline for guidance to submit names to the American Legion is November 9th. By the way, this will look great on your resume. SGA and Leadership will be selling candy “BooGrams” during both lunches this week for $1.00, Send someone a faBOOlous message with a piece of candy. All BooGrams will be delivered during 5th period on Monday, October 31st. Nursing Students: There is an incredible local, cost-effective opportunity for juniors interested in going into Nursing as a career. Applications are now being accepted with a deadline of 11:59 p.m. October 28, 2022. Freshman and Sophomores can join a mailing list for future opportunities. Information is posted in Google Classrooms. Seniors who need volunteer hours: Martin County Parks and Recreation is sponsoring Senior Games October 23 - October 30. You can find the link to sign up in the Senior Google Classroom. Sports News Jensen Beach’s girls golf team qualified for next week’s Region 4 Regional tournament! Grace Ayers’ 81 led the team and Chloe Sebuck finished with an 83. Faith Ayers and Hannah Erwig each shot a 90. Well done, girls! The volleyball team will play at home tonight at 7:00. Come out to support them dressed in your teal and black! Let’s go, girls! The boys’ golf team will compete in the District Golf Tournament today. Good luck, boys! Want to be a CHAMPION?
