🍎CELEBRATING EDUCATIONAL EXCELLENCE🍎 In April, more than 150 Martin County School District students were celebrated for earning a PERFECT score on one or more state assessments in the 2022-2023 school year. Fewer than 1% of students in Florida can say they earned this incredible achievement. Attaining perfection is just one part of a larger story of success, as our students have continued their pursuit of excellence--evident in the recent overall assessment results from the 2023-2024 school year! 🍎STATE ASSESSMENT RESULTS RELEASED🍎 The Florida Department of Education released state assessment results for the 2023-2024 school year, and the Martin County School District excelled! Our students have demonstrated outstanding achievements across multiple subjects and grade levels, surpassing state averages and setting new benchmarks for excellence. Notable Achievements: 💫MCSD outperformed Palm Beach County in Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Science, Civics, and U.S. History. 💫MCSD outperformed St. Lucie Public Schools in English Language Arts, Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Science, Civics, and U.S. History. 💫MCSD outperformed Indian River County in Algebra, Civics, and Writing. We are proud to announce that MCSD ranks #1 on the Treasure Coast in both Algebra and Civics, and is performing above the state average in Mathematics, Algebra, Geometry, Writing, Science, and Civics. 🌟CELEBRATING NEW LEADERSHIP🌟 Please join us in welcoming Mr. Gregory Bottari, J.D. Parker Elementary School's new Assistant Principal! Mr. Bottari’s appointment was approved during Tuesday night's Regular School Board Meeting. The former Assistant Principal, Ms. Shameeka White, is the new Assistant Principal of Curriculum at Stuart Middle School. Mr. Bottari joins the Martin County School District with experience in school leadership, as he was most recently the Principal of Barnum Woods Elementary School in New York. Our Food & Nutrition Services Department continues to offer free meals to ALL children aged 18 and under during the summer months with no income restrictions. Breakfasts and lunches are now being served at a few locations, but more sites will be available starting June 3. Our Summer Feeding Bus is back on the road this year! 🔬SPOTLIGHT ON STEM🔬 This year, J.D. Parker Elementary School put STEM education in the spotlight, incorporating science, technology, engineering and math into their celebrations. Math skills were showcased alongside traditional performances during Hispanic Heritage Month. In February, families and students engaged in a variety of STEM-related activities and explored the contributions of Black leaders in STEM at the school's Black History Month event.
