MCHS is celebrating an incredibly meaningful reflection project created by Mr. Biancone’s AVID students — My Inspiration Shield.
Each student designed a personal shield that represents the core pieces of who they are and who they are becoming. This project goes far beyond artwork — it’s a powerful moment of self‑reflection that helps students understand their identity, their challenges, and their future pathways.
🎯 What’s on the Shield?
Every section highlights an important part of the student’s journey:
Personal Goals – What they hope to achieve as individuals
Career Goals – Their dreams for the future
Personal Challenges – The obstacles they’ve overcome or are working through
Personal Strengths – The traits that make them resilient

Today, students dove deep into Hamlet Act 3, Scene 1—specifically Hamlet’s heartbreaking treatment of Ophelia. 💔
Working in groups, they analyzed how his language, tone, and emotional turmoil shaped some of the play’s most powerful lines, including:
🔹 “I loved you not.”
🔹 “Get thee to a nunnery.”
Students explored these moments to uncover Hamlet’s intentions and the deeper meaning behind his words—and how those choices intensified Ophelia’s pain.
Then came the creative twist! 🎨📝
Using what they learned, groups wrote apology letters from Hamlet in three styles:
📜 Old English–inspired
📝 Modern English
📱 Gen Z language
They combined their letters into eye-catching posters and presented how each version used style and word choice to shape Hamlet’s remorse in totally different ways.
