Friday night lights are BACK tomorrow, and we’re ready for the hype, the touchdowns and the all-out school spirit. 🎉👏📣

Just a friendly reminder:
📣 Middle school students must be accompanied by an adult—no solo entry allowed (and yes, we will be those people making sure a parent/guardian comes to get them).
📣 All students, no matter their grade, must show a valid school ID to get in.
📣 Backpacks and large bags are not allowed.
📣 This goes for all high school sporting events.

#MMSLions, 6th grade orientation will take place tomorrow. We are so excited! Orientation begins at 9 and we will start dismissing at 12:50. Bus transportation is available for regular riders. Pizza for lunch will be provided to all students before dismissal! See you soon! 🦁💙

The first day of school is almost here, and now’s a great time to remind your student about the District’s cell phone and wireless device policy and avoid an unexpected trip to campus to retrieve a confiscated device. 😅

ℹ️ During school hours, cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and other wireless tech must be off and out of sight.

Here’s what families should know:
📲 Devices that are seen or used during the day will be confiscated.
📲 Only a parent or guardian can pick them up, and only at a time set by school staff.
📲 Repeated offenses constitute insubordination and may result in suspension.

Need to contact your child? Call the school office—we’ll make sure they get the message promptly.

⭐️ Staff Spotlight ⭐️ Recently, Ms. Sahagun also had a wonderful opportunity to spend a week in Salamanca, Spain, participating in an international teacher training program organized by the University of Salamanca. It was a professional development experience where she joined educators from the United States and Brazil to attend workshops and presentations. She learned so much and is super excited to apply all of the new strategies to her own classroom! Fun fact - she also completed her Master’s Degree in Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language! 🦁💙

Our 2025–2026 Instructional Calendar is available—complete with holiday breaks, early release days, and those important Emergency Makeup Days.

🟦 Holiday breaks and days off? Shaded in dark blue.
🟥 Emergency Makeup Days? Outlined in red: November 24–25 (before Thanksgiving) and May 29, 2026.

If we don’t need them, you get bonus vacation days. If we do, they become regular school days.
Either way, we’ll give you as much notice as possible.

1. Please login to your Focus Parent Portal and update all annual forms including the yellow card.
2. Immunization records must be updated before 7th grade students can start the year.
2. Schedules will not be released in Focus until right before 6th grade orientation.
3. 6th grade orientation is Aug. 8 from 9-1pm (lunch & buses provided).

👉Regular price for breakfast for all students is $1.50. Lunch for grades K-5 is $1.85, and for grades 6-12 is $2.10.
