๐CHOOSING THE BEST๐
During an Emergency Meeting held this evening, the Martin County School Board voted to add Martin County High School and Jensen Beach High School to the list of approved Controlled Open Enrollment schools for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year.
This means in AND out-of-county residents can apply to ANY MCSD-operated school during the application period that will open tomorrow, March 1 โ March 31.
For high school students, applications for signature programs are no longer required as part of the Choice process, but must be completed if your child would like to be considered for entrance into a signature program.
โน๏ธStudents accepted into a Controlled Open Enrollment choice option must have their own mode of transportation to and from school. Students are not required to renew their applications annually and will be permitted to attend their chosen school through the highest grade level offered on the campus.

We just kicked off our schoolโs Kids Heart Challenge! Students and staff are excited to get going on helping kids with special hearts and learning how to take care of our own. If you havenโt already, JOIN OUR TEAM at heart.org/schools or by downloading the AHA Schools app.
Once youโre on the team, be sure to complete Finnโs Mission. Thatโs where youโll learn the lifesaving skill of Hands-Only CPR, which when given immediately can double (even triple) a personโs chance of surviving cardiac arrest. Other missions will help you raise funds for kids with special hearts and learn the warning signs of a stroke.
As always, our students will have the opportunity to earn thank-you gifts for themselves and funds and equipment for our school.
Join us today!

๐NEW START TIMES FOR THE 24-25 SCHOOL YEAR๐
The Martin County School Board approved new school start times for the 2024-2025 School Year during its regular Board Meeting tonight.
Florida HB 733, passed in 2023, requires school districts to comply with new middle and high school start times beginning with the 2026-2027 school year.
To comply with the legislation, Martin County School District school start and end times have been adjusted for the 2024-2025 school year.
Because we are implementing the new times before the mandated year (2026-2027), the District will receive funds from the Florida Department of Education, which a portion of will be used to purchase a school bus tracking system for families. This system will allow verified parents and guardians to see when the bus will arrive at its stop in the mornings and afternoons, and if there are any delays along the route.
Read more about the new times, legislation and bus tracking system here: https://www.martinschools.org/article/1413309
