🍎 OBSERVING OUTSTANDING INSTRUCTION🍎 Superintendent Dr. John D. Millay participated in a learning walk at Pinewood Elementary School today. "Learning walks are one of many tools we use to learn about the great things happening at each of our schools," Dr. Millay shared. "In addition to observation and engagement, it allows our leadership team to learn about additional ways we can offer support." Hello Pinewood Families, What a great time we had shopping for gifts for our loved ones at the Holiday Gift Shop and showing our moves at the Holiday Dance! Thank you to everyone who had a hand in putting these events together as they bring us closer together as a community. This is our final week before winter break. We are still having mid-year assessments and completing academic standards before we enjoy our 2 weeks with our families. We need our Panthers present and on time. Hello Pinewood Family, We had a very successful Conference Night this past week. Thank you to our teachers and staff for preparing for these important conversations and thank you to our families for making education a priority. Monday and Tuesday of this week, the walker bridge is being closed for repair. There will be additional police to assist during arrival and dismissal. We ask that you remind your children that toys and playing cards should not be brought to school. This becomes especially distracting during dismissal. Mrs. Coder, our amazing music teacher, will be holding auditions on November 28th and 29th for the Performing Panthers. This year, auditions and participation is open to students in grades 1-5. Please ask your teacher for a packet if you are interested. This coming week may be short, but certainly one of the most important weeks of the month, as we give thanks and reflect on the goodness and love that surrounds each and every one of us. We, at PWE, are blessed to be part of your lives. Gracias a nuestros maestros y personal por prepararse para estas importantes conversaciones y gracias a nuestras familias por hacer de la educación una prioridad. El lunes y martes de esta semana, el puente peatonal estará cerrado por reparaciones. Habrá policía adicional para ayudar durante la llegada y la salida. If your child was absent or needs to have a retake photo taken, please register your child at www.focusedonforever.com/retakes NO LATER than 3 BUSINESS DAYS PRIOR so that they appear on the list. All retake proofs will only be delivered electronically, so you must register your child for them to be photographed and for your proof to be visible to you afterwards.

REMINDER: Hello Parents, We originally planned for tutoring to begin today Monday, November 14th. We are now pushing the start date to Monday, November 21st. If your child was selected to participate, please ensure they turn in their signed permission slip when we return to school this week.
