WARFIELD IN THE HOUSE! 📣 Earlier this year, Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation marking the end of Florida Standards Assessments (FSAs) and ushering in a new era of enhanced progress monitoring throughout Florida. The changes will take effect in the 2022-2023 school year. On Monday, April 4, Warfield Elementary School held a pep rally for students as they prepared to take their final FSAs. 🍎PUMPED UP FOR SUCCESS🍎 On Monday, Warfield Elementary School held a campus-wide celebration for students as they prepared to take the Florida Standards Assessments (FSAs) for the last time. Last month, Governor Ron DeSantis signed legislation that will make Florida the first state in the nation to fully transition to progress monitoring. The change takes effect next school year. 🍎INSTRUCTIONAL UPDATE FOR FAMILIES🍎 In March, Governor Ron DeSantis signed Senate Bill 1048 into law, effectively eliminating Florida Standards Assessments (FSAs) and replacing them with progress monitoring. This school year will be the last year that students take FSAs - next year, Florida will fully implement progress monitoring-based school accountability. Many of our students will participate in FSAs this week. We ask families to continue prioritizing attendance and punctuality while also encouraging their children to take pride in demonstrating what they have learned this year. 🍎LEAVING A LASTING LEGACY🍎 Last evening, Superintendent John D. Millay and the Martin County School Board celebrated the career of Nicolasa "Nico" Martinez, Home School Liaison at Warfield Elementary School. A 46-year resident of the Village of Indiantown, Ms. Martinez has proudly served the students and families of Warfield Elementary for 32 years. In that time, she's made Warfield her home in every sense of the word - her daughter, Valerie, works alongside her in the front office and six of her grandchildren have attended the school! "Nico is kind-hearted, compassionate and goes above and beyond to make sure all needs are met for our students and families," Principal Crissy Smith shared. "She leaves a legacy of dedication and passion for students, families and the Indiantown community, and will be greatly missed." We wish Ms. Martinez all the best in her retirement and hope she'll continue to share photos with us as she travels the world! #ALLINMartin👊 #PublicSchoolProud
