Martin County High School hosted its #BlackHistoryMonth celebration on Tuesday, February 15. Students listened to a variety of presentations in an assembly-style format, including Ms. Thelma Washington of the Gertrude Walden Child Care Center's recitation of Martin County's ABCs of Black History!

🍎HONORING AN OUTSTANDING EDUCATOR🍎
Last evening, Superintendent John D. Millay and the Martin County School Board celebrated the career of Ms. Clare "Shelly" Hall, a 25-year veteran educator who will be retiring this year. Ms. Hall has spent the last 22 years of her career touching the lives of countless children at Felix A. Williams Elementary School.
"Ms. Hall has been a shining light to help guide our students not only in their academic learning, but also in helping them to develop great character," Principal Debbie Riley shared.
Thank you for your dedication to our students, Ms. Hall! We wish you all the best in your retirement.

Martin County High School junior Mariel Scher has been selected as the Martin County School District's representative for the Florida Department of Education's 2022 Sunshine State Scholars program! Jensen Beach High School junior Jacob Breen has been selected as this year's alternate. The Sunshine State Scholars program recognizes Florida's top performing 11th graders in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).

Staff will provide families of rising kindergartners with information on school meal programs, Extended Day after-school care opportunities, completing their enrollment and more!

Third- graders in Mrs. Urbay's class at Felix A. Williams Elementary School completed their community give-back project by creating homemade valentines to give to elderly members of our community. The cards were delivered to a local assisted living facility to be shared with residents who may need an extra dose of love this #ValentinesDay.

📚REAL-WORLD LEARNING HAPPENS HERE📚
Students from Jensen Beach High School, Martin County High School and South Fork High School joined hundreds of other students from throughout the Treasure Coast for the recent Career Connect Conference organized by CareerSource Research Coast.
Students were able to connect with local businesses to investigate the amazing opportunities available to them in today's job market. They attended sessions with local business in the healthcare, manufacturing, skilled trades, finance, and hospitality industries. After lunch, they enjoyed listening to keynote speaker Kyle Greene, the president and founder of Kyle G's Prime Seafood!
