ICYMI: South Fork High School's giving spirit was in the spotlight on WPTV over the Winter Break!
SFHS students recently debuted the "Bulldog Closet," a thrift store on campus led by students for students.
The generosity of the Bulldogs didn't stop there! Cafeteria manager MaryEllen Burgos went to SFHS staff to help raise more than $1,000 to wipe out the lunch debt at the school right before the holidays.
When Bulldogs come together, the outcome is nothing short of extraordinary.🐾❤️

📣SHARE YOUR FEEDBACK📣
The Martin County School District seeking your feedback about a potential year-round school pilot program.
What is year-round school? Year-round school does NOT mean students will be in the classroom for more days. Instead, the mandated 180 days of instruction are spread throughout the year, changing the duration and timeframes of breaks.
In May, Governor Ron DeSantis signed HB 891 into law, establishing a four-year pilot program for year-round schooling. To contemplate joining the program (which starts in the 2024-2025 school year), the District was required to apply by the Florida Department of Education.
The District has initially identified Warfield Elementary, Pinewood Elementary, Port Salerno Elementary, and Indiantown Middle as potential schools to participate in the pilot program.
Join the conversation! Share your insights or questions by heading to this link or participating during public comment at the Board Workshop on January 9, 2024: https://bit.ly/3S5PGqv

🥣PREPARING FOR THE HOLIDAYS🥣
Dr. David L. Anderson Middle School students have had a busy few weeks learning how to prepare for the holidays, a peak season for many restaurants!
The CTE Culinary Class takes their baking as seriously as researching and answering questions for a mock job interview in the culinary industry.
Learning opportunities like this are available to our students with the help of incredible industry partners! Okeechobee Steakhouse recently donated 30 lbs. of beef, 72 lbs. of Marinara sauce, and 40 lbs. of spaghetti pasta. The business also adopted the class through the Education Foundation of Martin County and has provided other donations, like kitchen supplies!

🐾⚽️ A WIN FOR THE ANIMALS⚽️🐾
Last night was no ordinary soccer game between South Fork High School and Martin County High School's girls' varsity teams.
Student-athletes came up with the idea to waive the entrance fee for all spectators who brought an animal toy or food. It was a huge success! All the toys and food will be donated to the Humane Society of the Treasure Coast!
The game ended in a scoreless tie, but the players and community came out with an extraordinary win! Both teams posed for this celebratory picture after the game. ⚽️🐾🐅
Way to go, Bulldogs and Tigers! We are #MCSDBetterTogether!
