❤️A HELPING HAND❤️ We are incredibly grateful to the Education Foundation of Martin County and Women's Health Specialists, Jensen Beach, FL for their support in our community's time of need after Hurricane Milton. Women's Health Specialists generously donated hundreds of essential items—including air mattresses, cleaning supplies, diapers, and more. Lisa Rhodes and the EFMC team went above and beyond, delivering THREE truckloads of supplies to the District office, where we can distribute them to families in need of a helping hand. This week, we honor Holocaust Education Week in Florida (November 4-8). Since 1994, Florida has committed to educating students about the Holocaust during the second week of November, coinciding with the anniversary of Kristallnacht, which is widely recognized as a precipitating event that led to the Holocaust. The Martin County School District is incorporating lessons about the Holocaust, using valuable resources identified by the Florida Department of Education's Commissioner’s Task Force on Holocaust Education. This week serves as an opportunity for students to learn the atrocious history of the Holocaust and antisemitism, as well as the many consequences that followed. #ALLINMartin👊

📆MAKEUP DAY INFORMATION📆 Martin County School District students will NOT be required to make up the days missed due to the recent hurricanes. Fortunately, after a thorough review of the District’s instructional calendar, students will still meet state requirements and complete the academic year without the need to use make-up days at this time. We are committed to supporting the community with ongoing recovery efforts, including through the Education Foundation of Martin County’s relief fund for employees and families, providing free meals for students, and offering credit for last week’s Extended Day services. ⭐️COMMUNITY SUPPORT FOR SUCCESS⭐️ Did you know--the Stuart Martin Chamber of Commerce is one of the most recent organizations to endorse the the renewal of the existing millage referendum? Since 2018, funding from the existing millage referendum has helped provide critical resources for our schools, such as additional school resource officers, mental health programs, and funding to recruit, retain, and train top teachers and staff to provide quality education. When Martin County voters head to the polls on November 5, they will see a request to renew the existing millage referendum. A renewal of the millage will allow the district to continue funding these essential services that directly support students and the community.
