"Lauren is my rock. We began our teaching careers the same year," grateful colleage Samantha Kerr shared. "We were both unsure of every step we took, but we always took them together. She has kept me going on days when I wasn't sure if I could. She inspires me to be a better teacher and person. Without her support, I would not be a teacher today. Superintendent Maine participated in Martin County High School's Class of 2023 Graduate Walk at Palm City Elementary School this morning.
Our graduate walks are much-anticipated annual traditions for graduating seniors- they visit the elementary school they attended as young children, greeting their former teachers and inspiring the current elementary students to keep working hard in school and pursuing their dreams.

This morning, we are shining a spotlight on Jensen Beach High School senior Xandie Ken Fajardo!
"I love all the teachers and administrators, especially Ms. Dictor and Ms. Nieves, for helping me pass the English test," Xandie shared. "Thank you so much. Go Falcons!!"
Xandie plans to attend IRSC - Indian River State College and study Architecture. She later hopes to transfer to Florida Atlantic University to continue her studies.

This morning, we are continuing our Teacher Appreciation shoutouts, starting with Martin County High School's Don McKindles!
"I want to give a huge shout out to Don McKindles at Martin County High School," grateful parent Julie Marshall shared. "Both of my kids had Mr. McKindles while he was teaching at South Fork High School. They would come home every day filling us in on the stories he would tell which were often hilarious. In these stories, I realized that he was not only teaching them and the other students the academic curriculum, but he was also teaching them life lessons. Lessons that they will carry with them for a lifetime. What an invaluable gift!!"
"The impact Mr. McKindles has had on so many students’ lives is incredible," Julie continued. "It is one of the reasons he was once voted the 'Teacher Most Likely to Have a Student’s Back.' His loss is still felt at South Fork, but I'm happy knowing that the MCHS students now have him as a teacher. Thank you again, Mr. McKindles, for everything you taught my kids and for all the laughs!"

"She is graduating as an AP Scholar with Distinction and with her AP Capstone Diploma. She loves playing volleyball at JBHS and Tribe TC Volleyball Club and singing with JBHS Jubilate. She is especially thankful for Mrs. Allen, Coach Sawtelle, Mr. Paul, and Mrs. Duchene for their support!"

This afternoon, we are shining a spotlight on Martin County High School senior Blair Baudier!
"Blair has devoted all four years of her high school career to the MCHS CTE Medical Academy, earning both her CNA and CMAA certifications," proud mom Brnaid shared. "In addition to receiving her HS diploma, Blair will earn her Associate of Arts Degree in Biology from IRSC - Indian River State College. A sincere THANK YOU to Mrs. Aimee French & Mrs. Maureen Sapienza -- two MCHS Medical Academy instructors who have impacted Blair’s high school years both academically & personally. Both have been a gift of trusted guidance & unwavering support."
Blair was a 4-year member of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) and served as President her Senior year," Blair's mom continued. "Her other high school activities include the National Honor Society, Student Government, and Football Cheer (serving as a Captain her Senior year). Some of Blair’s fondest HS memories are cheering on the Tigers alongside her best friends under the Friday night lights! Blair, we are so proud of your accomplishments and look forward to your next adventures! Continue to stay true to who you are, follow your heart, believe in yourself, and always chase your wildest dreams!! We love you, Mom & Dad."
Blair plans to continue her education in healthcare at Florida State University, where she will work towards a Master's Degree in Nursing.
